It could also be the lack of uniqueness in games which Hypixel has. But, don't forget that Cube has been getting players again, but not as much as Hypixel.

It’s obviously the combat mechanics, I honestly hope the new combat mechanics will be a meeting point for 1.8 and 1.9 PvP fans. That way the division finally ends

Also sadly cubecraft has earned a reputation of being a server that’s easy to hack on... when you search cubecraft on YouTube you find hacking videos
