Well i’m mostly wondering what people think about this subject, as I kinda get why they do it, but like also it’s not really the same as straight people sometimes do have more rights than other sexualities. Like jobs etc
I guess its because straight people arent really oppressed as a group of people, so they are celebrating their existance, it also helps people be more open minded about LGBT people.
But it’s not like it harms anyone. A straight pride is I think something to celebrate that you’re proud of being straight and why can’t you be? I feel like everyone can celebrate their sexuality, but for some reason you can’t proudly say you’re straight, because you have more rights!1!1 like why can’t you say it? More rights or not, it doesn’t change anything
I totally get that, but it feels like people are doing straight parades just because LGBT people have one, it feels a bit obnoxious and petty, like they are trying to take the spotlight away from people that kind of need it in this day and age.
It’s hard to explain but I feel like it kinda grows the same as colored (not trying to harm anyone) vs white people. If you say you have less rights, the more separate these groups of people get. We can’t do anything about it, until we break those barriers and allowing everyone to do their own thing. Included straights saying that they are straight
And yea I agree with you, I kinda hate America because everything is so extreme, just like this pride thing. They take everything to far and in Europe there are the same things going on, but just less in the public, less extreme, with more normal politicians
Just been thinking a lot lately about the American dream thing and that it is kinda nonsense. You can’t be happy in America, because you’re to rich, you’re to white, you’re to straight, you’re to poor it keeps going on and on and on this fight between groups of people who should work together instead of all the hatred towards each other
I kind of get what you're saying, like if we truly want equality then we should stop letting 'some' people do parades but not others, because that would be unfair?
Yea like to make people more equal and less divided let the ones that really are left behind protest and do their thing, but don’t mind anyone else business and don’t throw hatred against other groups
Basically everyone I meet talks about how great America is, right now, its the worst country in the world. I would only ever recommend living in America if you're rich or going there for a holiday. Not that I would know as I'm British. (:
I think that LGBTQ community was created to defend their rights. If people are doing strait parades because they want to defend their rights and speak out, thats ok. But I think making an anti-LGBTQ community isn't ok. Because the LGBTQ community isn't an anti-strait community, righto?
