@Livvyyx That's true. I still think it's good to have your opinion swayed on a matter.
EG: I think people who don't question religion to the slightest are stupid. If you make an informed decision, sure, but there is such a lot to consider.
I personally am religious but I used to be athiest. Was cool learning some of the arguments for religion such as the cosmological and teleological arguments which swayed me.
ffs on the topic of religion I'm just extremely confused. I grew up in a catholic school, in a religious Christian family and now I'm massively questioning Christianity. At the same time I feel like being Christian is right. It just confuses me to the point I question myself almost every few days about this specific topic. I keep bombarding my religion teacher about it as well. Idk man I'm confused
Religion has actually done good things. It can unite countries under a single identity to create a more prosperous society, especially in the early days of human society.
My biggest gripe with religion is it is a breeding ground for regressive conservatism. So many religious people weaponise their faiths to justify bigotry. For instance, a lot of Christians are quick to argue gay and trans people are prohibited by God; yet they'll make any excuse to not be executed when they wear mixed fabrics, or work on the Sabbath.
