If you get this message again:
1) go to %appdata% -> .minecraft -> versions -> version you're using -> delete the (cache).jar and (cache).json file
2) or rename the folder: the version you're using example: 1.11 -> 1.11-old and install a new 1.11 folder with MC launcher
