The dude wasn't even being chase or anything so they had all the time in the world to weigh the pro and Cons and realised that there is no pros just the con of death.

So that dude tried to fly even if he wasn't chased. And didn't reach his goal the heaven/moon. Dang
On the arcade map there is an area with a bunch of other minigames, It is very possible that he was doing deep research into each and every map to find out more about the game and all of cubecraft in general, He also might be looking for levers around the map to be the first one to discover a very long mystery, there are so many things to discover by jumping into the void.

You don't go into spectator mode when you die in this mini game. You only go spectator on tnt run or the blow up the other base game. So if he was doing research he picked a very unfortunate game to do that

You can see the red space that you get teleported to from outside. Also vast majority of games teleport you to the red space

I can’t believe it… I’m going to miss you a lot my friend, even though we didn’t talk as much the last few years, I always remember how much fun we’d have playing on here, messing around on forums, or just talking about random stuff on discord.
