Exactly, proof that it works 100% fine

3 and an half hour on the map Under Da Sea! Me and my friend decided to camp till our opponents left. They didn't left. After we killed them and broke the bridge for so many times they managed to get on our island. The fight didn't last long cause they had been camping on the emerald generator...

Like I said, If you disconnect and rejoin you will only respawn if you had an egg. Also you will lose all your items so combat logging will not be a thing. If you rejoin while you have no egg you will just die and respawning will not be an option.
