Hello! I personally think that nerfing the wizard kit in this case is a good thing. The reason I think this is because the kit was very reliant on the pots and not the pvp. I personally don't like or dislike any map more than others apart from the elytra map. For me it's more about the pvp and less about the map I play on. Although I love being able to knock players in the void on Oil Rig :)
