But swords are still the best weapon in the game, so if you have an iron sword with chain shouldn't you have an iron axe with chain?

Full gold would look better and is similar in protection but as I said axes are technically worse than a sword but they can be used certain ways to be better so chain-mail is kinda balanced as someone with "Swordsman" is still doing more DPS with the same armor than the "Barbarian"

Stone, Iron and Diamond axes do the same damage but are different speeds

Why no armor for normal and chain for OP? Axes aren't that OP. They are technically worse than swords. Maybe gold armor for normal or a stone axe.
