To show that you disagree with what the person is saying...? You seem to be viewing this as a very negative thing. If someone dislikes your post then they aren't doing it in a "hateful" manner. They are just using it as a tool to say they disagree or dislike whatever you're saying. No toxicity...

What if you want to dislike a post? Sometimes, posts don't need an explanation as to why they were disliked, and if there is any abuse then you can just hand out punishments to people who abuse it.
