Do you also have issues with using a bow? Because that's another issue I had that was solved in 1.17.

Happened to me too, what version are you using? Cause I've found that it's bc I'm on 1.12.2 on 1.17 it goes smoothly. They should fix the problems and make sure 1.12.2 runs smoothly a swell. I haven't tried 1.13-1.16 but I'd guess they work better too, if not then those should be fixed as well.
