All Networks Party Suggestion

I have an idea to make peoples lives slightly easier.

So currently the way to invite people is:

/party invite _The13thDoctor_

There is a shorter way to do it:

/p invite _The13thDoctor_

What I'm suggesting is:

/pi _The13thDoctor_

Basically its an easier and faster way to invite people. Like if your live streaming and you need to invite people quickly. Now you can. So basically yeah, that's it. What do you think?

Because it takes way longer than 3 seconds for it to be added, and for no reason.

Good suggestion. This would be very useful when streamers want to invite a whole host of stream members into their parties really quickly. This would be very convenient.

Its got a good reason. It's convenient. Maybe not to you but to others yes.

If you use mods like 5zig, you can create a filter that allows you to do /pi <name> and have it still work. All it does it replace /pi with /party invite and bam, it works like normal minus being able to tab complete names.

I think he is saying that so you can use it as a quick-fix whilst this feature gets implemented

Developing is not as easy as just throwing in 2 lines of code and have it work. There are always going to be things you didn’t account for which can lead to more problems. I don’t think it should be a developer priority either. If they are bored and feel like adding it, sure. But if it means them stopping their work on other updates, I wouldn’t want it added just so I don’t have to write out 1 extra word.

The 5zig thing was just if you really felt you had to type the 1 less word out. It is a quick and easy change client side.

Sounds neat, yeah, but should be very low on the list of priorities. If I had to pick between this and say, a few new achievements, I'd pick the achievements every time. Most people don't even use parties, nor mind having to type a few extra characters. If they ever did a "Quality of Life Month" or something, I think that would be the time to suggest this.

I agree with everyone saying it's not needed.

Also, adding something in a server core is way more work then you think. Adding something could take up to 1 day... search class, write code, testing, updating, etc etc etc
