So, many people have thought of ways to stop campers. This is a new one I came up with.

What is the 70% Rule?

A points system would be introduced in team games. A kill would be one point in all games and games with "special" actions, such as breaking an egg or capturing a flag would count as three. On any game with respawning it must be the final kill, except blockwars of course. For instance, if you played eggwars on the map space, there would be 21 available points for use. If a person breaks 3 eggs and kills 5 players, the 70% rule kicks in as they eliminated over 70% of the map.

What happens when the 70% rule kicks in?

If one player eliminates 70% of the entire map, some of the points will be stolen from his teammates and transferred to him.

Pros:

  • Stops Campers, as they have to go out to avoid a teammate earning 70%
  • Encourages more Teamwork so that they can distribute the points
  • Gives players an incentive to attack
  • Encourages Rushing Rather Than Just Staying At Mid
Cons:
  • Could be unfair for new players
  • Gives veterans even more points than they already have
Also, the amount of points stolen is based off how much over 70% is obtained:

70 - 79.9% - 20% Stolen - Using Example 70% player gets 160 XP and 32 Points.
80 - 89.9% - 30% Stolen - 80% Player gets 190 XP and 38 Points.
90 - 94.9% - 50% Stolen - 90% Player gets 250 XP and 50 Points.
95 - 99.9% - 80% Stolen - 95% Player Gets 340 XP and 68 Points.
100% - TAKE IT ALL. Perfect player gets 400 XP and 80 Points.

Let me know what you think :)

Where do you get all these amazing ideas ???

Pretty cool but I think campers care more about the win and less about the points :P I like it becuase when I do play on a random team usually I end up doing all the work and killing everyone so more points for me :D

Don't like it, what if ur teammate was a hacker, there are probably more cons than pros. Sorry -1

This does the opposite of team building. Basically it becomes "every man for himself" in a team game.
There are times where I'm the one defending at base while my team is ravaging everyone else, but I'm just keeping people at bay. Does this necessarily mean I'm contributing any less?
I wouldn't like it to become a rushing game where Eggwars (for me) is all about strategy. I don't like this.

Definitely agree with you, people will try to be the best player and then you don't have a team, it is basically solo. It ruins the point of team

The main problems I see would be:
1st: This makes people who like to defend get less points than they usually get but they arent camping. A possibility to fix this would be to give players double points when they kill someone close to their egg).
2nd the game would become more like FFA

Look at these screenshots of an absolutely dominating win:

In that game I had broken all 3 other eggs and killed all players except 1. This would have got me 18 out of 19 available points, and it was because my team was camping for no reason, even though I had already broken all the eggs and eliminated all but one player.

Camping is a strategy for some players. Some may find it annoying, but it is what it is. Winning a game against a camper is by far not impossible though, especially when you can use items like a shield against a bow spammer or a compass when you have no clue where your opponent is, or even use enderpearls in OP versions of most gamemodes to get to a player that camps in less than a second.

this suggestion is meant more to stop campers on your own team.

Not that I dislike your suggestion. I just highly doubt that it would actually prevent camping due to the fact that getting less points isn't that game changing, especially for players that already have a good amount of points.

This would discourage protecting the egg. I am usually the person that stays back and protects and that would be bad.

Like when @HackersDontWin won in a game against a camper and said "Yes! CampersDontWin, HackersDontWin!"

Maybe some more tweaks @Build. As you have said, veterans will just benefit even more from this even more giving newbies no chance to earn too many points. Otherwise, I think this is a pretty decent idea. Camping is a strategy but I personally think it should be bannable. But I am also thinking if some players don't contribute to a victory at all or are rather a nuisance but there is one single person who still goes ahead and wins the game, they should definitely take all the points because nobody else deserves them.

I think this is a good idea but i understand a think :D and there will be ONLY 3 players who eliminate the 70% of the map
