Hello, Camel here,
I don't have infinite time on my hands and as such I have not really been fulfilling my duties as a helper, but in any case, I played 1 game of the new Eggwars update, and I think it COULD've been a million times better, but the 1.9 update kinda killed it.

First and foremost:
- I like the changes and the voting options for how good the weapons are, it really expands the game very well.

However,
- 1.9 kinda crushed you guy's thunder because the PvP mechanics that come with the slower attacking are just miserable. I'm not that big of a PvPer myself, but I know a thing or two and I knowwwww that 1.9 will never be accepted by the minecraft community unless the servers take it upon themselves to change the attack speeds of the weapons.

Heres why:
- The attacking mechanic was so slow, that the enemy attackers had too much time to regen health, even without golden apples, and the only way to kill them was to literally destroy the durability on their entire armor set, then kill them while they are defenseless. This is bad because it absolutely destroys the pace of the game and creates long and boring fighting bouts.

How to fix this:
- increase the speed of attacking on all weapons by 100%. so the sword would attack at a rate of 3.2 and the axe at 2.
- Also, decrease the maximum protection to be found on any armor in Eggwars to be level 4.

Even More Things You Should Add To Make The Game Smoother:
- Add Secondary menus where you get the 1x9 line of options of what type of item you are looking to buy, and to make it easier, after the first menu (the one RIGHT when you open up shop) add another 1x9 menu where you pick what item you will be paying with, and once you click that you only see options for that level payment (Iron Gold Diamond) this is especially necessary in the Weapons and the Armor Menus.

Even More Things You Could Add to Further Diversify PvP:
- add variations of the higher level weapons (iron and diamond weapons) where they still start at the base attack that i said above (3.2 swords and 2 axes speeds) but some of that Attack Speed is taken away by adding an extra level or two of sharpness to the weapon.
- Next, you could add higher level swords that have Attribute changes (such as added running speed) for the cost of reduced Damage, but it keeps the normal 3.2 and 2.0 attack speed. as seen on: https://minecraftcommand.science/tool-generator website, The Select Attributes section directly under the Lore. (These commands cannot be executed in chat as they are much too long, you need a console to do it instead if you want to test how powerful they are. I suggest starting very small. selecting certain things can cause it to be extremely powerful)
- Also, adding Weakness Tipped Arrows is highly recommended, as this can further prove to be a big battle changer.
- Also, in the OP mode, adding Flame 1 to the Punch 1 bow would be cool.

The main point is: make weapons attack 2x faster mates. I can tell that the minecraft community will not accept the vanilla stats of the weapons. they attack just too slowly.

Thanks for reading this super extremely long post!

Hope you like it!

In my opinion they should just change the attacking speeds back to what they were except for making the axes a bit slower as they deal more damage or just change the damage back to what it used to be. About the higher level weapons and attribute changes I'm sure that'll be fun on overpowered, but I'd rather just keep the normal one as it is now.. It would also be nice if they changed it back so you can press 1 when you're trying to buy something that it actually goes to the first spot and that it moves the item that was in the first spot to another spot. This used to be a thing in 1.8 and I'm not sure why it changed.

Good suggestions Cam, I personally really like the cooldown. But I think it indeed may be a good idea to play around with.
Also like the flame and fast deals at the villager, that'll really spare some time :D

I love the current EggWars. The voting system and health system combined with the health system are awesome.

But I think this new EggWars update fits better without a cooldown. So +1 Cam

Well I don't play Eggwars. But about the attacking speed is like music to my ears!

This sure is a heads up worth.

From your dreams :v
The attacking mechanic is slow because the shield plays an important factor in the pvp, if the speed of the sword go up the shield will be useless in my opinion.

Of course that's not difficult. I only say that no one understands how to do it. Everyone does still spamclicking.

Personally, i'm too used to the old ways of spam clicking, as i have been playing minecraft since like Alpha something. I don't like the new stuff because its just toooooo sloooowwwww i prefer fast paced and quick combat style.

But if the majority of yall prefer to keep it at the slower speeds then you can still update the shop with a few more items that i suggested :)

Personally, I found the old style of combat much more enjoyable than the current. Although I like the new items that have been added, minecraft just isn't the same and as enjoyable as it was before - considering how I mainly focused on PvP based games.

I feel that the games are now much more extended. I can't rush islands like I used to before, because the cooldowns turn it to a fight that lasts minutes instead of seconds - which I preferred.

I do like 1.9 pvp in some game modes, I find it enjoyable then (such as skywars, imo its better with 1.9 combat) Though it really doesn't fit eggwars nor survival games for me (being my most favourite games on the cube, and overall)

Only thing I'd keep in eggwars are the shields, as bows were always kind of OP for their price.

I completely agree with you on that one. The most impermeable aspect of 1.9 is the attack cooldowns. This will bare a broader fight experience that may take 10 - 15 to 30 minutes to complete ESPECIALLY if both players are well geared for the fight. The Triple Health and Overpowered premium options will also create a burden for the time length of the game as well, even with the lowest form of gear equipped when fighting.

I have said this before, and I will say it again: sword cooldowns are almost the same length as the invincibility frames, so halving cooldown won't change anything. What is making the fights ridiculously long is that people wait for the bar to recharge if they miss and also health regen from food is now insane. I personally think that health regen should be slowed slightly and this will make fights SO much shorter!

It's not the cooldown, even in 1.8 you could only attack 2 times per second. It's the annoyingly fast regen that makes fights carry on. In my opinion, they both need to go for 95% of the server to be happy.
