Crazy Land (I GOT THE COOKIES :D)
Hello everyone,
This is an idea that involves points and most likely doesn't work because of the EULA but would be nice to see to encourage people to donate for cubecraft :)

So, onto the actual idea: Since the EULA can't control the servers website (that I know of) maybe only donors could 'purchase' a free item on the store the item would be coins! Since non-donators dont have access to purchase it, it would attract donations. It works a little like the voting option, except only donators can use it. It could be like the donor daily points only you need to access the coins by purchasing online let's say ever 24 hours?

If this is confusing then just ask me on this thread and I can explain it further :P

Maybe it could work like this:
Iron purchases the free points and gets: 100 points
Lapis gets: 200 points
Gold: 300 points
Diamond: 400 points
Emerald: 500 points
Obsidian: 600 points

Hope this complies to the EULA and could be implemented to help the server :D

Ok, basically it is a way to bring back daily points to cubecraft games. Donators are allowed to purchase free coins dependent on their rank. A non-donator would not be able to purchase it at all. So it's like the voting thing, the only difference is that only donors can use it.

So.. purchasing in-game currency? This violates the EULA regardless of who is allowed to do it. Sorry :/

Super's correct, the EULA clearly states that buying ingame points (that can impose advantageous situations) isn't allowed. Giving points as part of a donator rank is also not allowed. Even if it is indirectly.

Even if it was EULA compliant, what would people do with the said coins? I'm not sure exactly what the EULA states, or how this'd work out.

Pretty sure this is against it, as i have suggested being able to buy points to halo before, and he stated that it was. It's basically the same situation here. (Also, i believe that is why daily points for donors was removed [EULA])

But technically you aren't buying them, they're free to people who've donated. Does that mean it is against it? There's no exchanging of real-world currency into 'a Minecraft currency'. I remember reading somewhere that servers can still use in-game currencies such as coins, just that you can't use real-world money to get them.

The only way to obtain this in-game currency would be to donate, which does in fact cost money. This therefore still violates the EULA regardless of whether you're purchasing the points directly or indirectly by purchasing something else. OP kits were also free to anybody who donated, as was infinite chicken drumsticks on skyblock. It's just another fantastic perk that we're denied from having unfortunately :c

Idk
I'n this case, donors would be retrieving something the stone players cannot which I believe is a violation of the EULA. The stone members would have to donate even though I believe that the stone players and the donors are supposed to be in comparison with what we are all given. I'm not sure if this statement is true, but if so, I doubt this would be allowed.
(My opinion)

Sorry I meant points not coins, my mistake.
Not to worry, I think coins could work better than points, for things like shops.

I'm not sure what the EULA states about buying in-game currency indirectly, or even if it does. You're probably right though.

Most likely not, all the comments about not being able to purchase it on the website either are probably true.

Mojang sees it as "free" only if everyone who can click a button (and nothing else) can get it. So if they have to donate to click that button, its technically not free.

We'll think about it, in the meantime, this thread is closed due to the controversy, please do not start threads heavily based on how we should deal (or break) the EULA.
