Double XP weekends;





🔎 Introduction
Some time ago I was playing on an MMORPG server called Wynncraft, which you might know. To be exact, this was a week ago and they were having a double-experience weekend for valentines. I thought this might be a cool idea for Cubecraft too for things like Christmas, Valentines etc. So here I am explaining my idea and hopefully convincing you too (:



❓ Why would you want a double xp weekend?

Of course, a leveling and experience points aren't as important on Cubecraft as on an MMORPG server but the idea of leveling is definitely there. Nowadays you see people around throwing multipliers to get xp or similar things and people grind for the levels. At special events like holidays the Cubecraft Team can decide to activate a double xp booster for a specific period of time and you can earn the double experience points that you get from wins etc. This would make leveling easier for the 2/3 days that it is active and encourages people to grind more for the levels as a cosmetic and achievement.

Also note that this is only for experience points and definitely not the points you buy kits with etc. so it stays cosmetic and nothing too crazy.




❗ Issues that might occur
Although there is basically no other issue I can really think of there is just 1 thing that might be a little problem;
  • Overloaded servers; with these weekends you can definitely expect people to play more and encourage new people to take a look on the server. If it's a big change to the average players online the servers might not be ready for it and cause some problems, however they shouldn't be too hard to deal with as far as my basic development knowledge goes lol
If you can think of more issues/cons that might be there with this type of event, please let it know in the replies so I might be covering that in a later thread if this gets some decent responses :D

I think at least on java they already have a 'global multiplier' (so on all games) sometimes if there's something special. There was one for valentine for example. :)

I'm pretty sure that's only for normal points and not experience (level) points, but I could be wrong there

I would love to see it.
Its because leveling up is so slow especially on bedrock where there is not a fair amount of experience between games. And I play almost 2 hours a day and winning more than 10 times earning a very few amount of xp (Lukcy Islands).

I would love to see this too, especially for special events, such as the Valentine event we just had. It would bring more players and there would be more incentive to level up, as well as bringing up low level players who may not win most of their games.
Great idea!

I honestly love the idea. If there was a way to incorporate levels to a leaderboard then this idea is a great incentive to get on and play cubecraft!

Oh man those leaderboards are actually a great idea! Might cover that in a future suggestion if I don't forget about it :D

I think this is definitely a good idea. At least on Bedrock, we don't have anything like this at the moment as far as I know. This would also help increase the player count and maybe help us pass the Hive 😳
it should help increase the player count, but i dont think that would be enough to pass hive

If they would decide to add it they might also want to put some kind of level rewards in it since then it might actually be just enough to pass such servers in terms of players I guess
