Description of Map:
The name says it all, it's a football stadium but with our personal touch, in this case we decided to make it look like an abandoned football stadium using blocks such as cobblestone, stone brick and mossy cobblestone, we added vegetation to the soccer field and we destroyed a little bit the goal, we leave a hole in the four different floors where you can get the enemy flag.

Before continuing, as blockwars players we know that the void is an important element for the creation of blockwars maps, however, it is not indispensable.
There are currently two blockwars maps that don't have void, such is the case of Bridge and Forest Fight and that does not mean that they are bad maps, they are simply different and unique maps. There are some other maps that have void, such as nuclear or aces but if you know how to choose the right paths it's very likely that you will not fall into the void at any time, we wanted to make a central void line (as in aces) but it was ugly , so we decided to leave it as is.


We make sure that the map was not long and tedious as nuclear, since although it looks like a huge map, going along the right paths (which will be explained later) it is relatively easy to get the enemy flag.
There are approximately 150 blocks away from flag to flag, with the runner kit it takes between 30 to 35 seconds to arrive, 10 seconds more for the rest of the kits, which seems pretty good to us. *it may even take less time if you take the secret direct path*

This is better than the positve remake (I know it's not a competition) but I bet those people that voted no voted yes for that other one because it's their friend.. This is a good map!

It could be, and no, this isn't a competition but I guess we all would like to see our maps added to the server, I'm glad you liked it, thanks!

I'm a bit sceptical about whether the arena itself was made by you or is just copied, but all in all, I'm not sure how well this map would work for BlockWars. Though, I can see it work perfectly for Paintball (of course with the obstacles that pop up like usual)

If this map were to be added for BlockWars, however, then it really does need some obstacles. I'm not sure how easy this would be considering football fields are supposed to be free of obstacles in real life.

On the screenshots you've provided us with, I can differentiate two building styles and they're both total opposites: modern style and ruined style

And here is the 'ruined' style I mentioned, at the very bottom (where the flag is located) you can even see both styles are mixed, and this is even more obvious on the screenshot below

Combining styles like this, to me, seems a bit odd and it's obviously not really working


In its current state, I would not want to see it added

Hmm no, we did the whole stadium with our ideas and creativity, I will put some images of how we started and how our work evolved but I respect your opinion in thinking that we copied the map from somewhere else :)

We consider this map to work well in blockwars, and what do you mean by obstacles? Maybe you think it's just a map with a soccer field in a straight line, but that's just one way to reach the enemy flag, maybe I'll put a video with the full map and its different paths soon...

Combining styles like this, to me, seems a bit odd and it's obviously not really working
We will take your opinion into consideration and we will work on it, perhaps making the whole stadium more modern or more destroyed, thanks for you feedback!

I really like the looks but I'm concerned about how big it actually is. I know you said you tried to avoid it being like nuclear but I think there's an issue about how wide the map actually is. The tunnels on the outside and the outside seats on the stadium are very far from the middle of the map and seem quite isolated. The problem with nuclear is that there are just very few fights with a long time running around because the different paths are so far apart. On this map the paths are even further apart. A game with 16 players will feel like a game with 4.

This issue is resolved on nearly all maps with choke points. I'll give some examples that relate to the non void maps. Starting with bridge, most transport is limited to a 10 ish wide bridge, where you can get past defenders, but it is difficult. This makes the map feel like it has more activity because players are clustered up so the team element of the game is really shown. In forest fight, the map is not so wide in the first place, but has plenty of choke points everywhere. Here, I feel like even in a test run with 16 players, you could go one side of the map to the other without seeing a single other person and that definitely reminds me of nuclear but to the extreme as there are even more paths.

I'm not entirely sure how to resolve this but I would suggest that in the centre of the map, all routes should be filtered back there in the football field by blocking off the other paths. You could also include parkour that's easy for people to be shot down from on some of the routes. I like the look of the map but it just is so massive, almost as wide as it is long, that no one will ever see anyone else. While the outer routes are slower, it's not a big enough difference to make most people want to use the middle.

I also agree that this map would work better with paintball as stated above. Because there just is too much space for Blockwars. Imagine in half blocks, people couldn't even block half the ways in effectively. With some gameplay oriented changes, this could work but right now it certainly just feels like nuclear.

I voted no and here’s why:
The map is too big. Which makes games take longer, and having players being more spread up leads to boring games.

The few entrances to the flag are very enclosed, which ensures there will be a lot of camping.

Overall the map isn’t very appealing, it’s just huge. But it lacks detail.

Tbh this is Nuclear 2.0 but maybe even worse.

Thanks for your comments guys, starting with what the map is large, yes, it is large, and it seems large, but as I mentioned in the map description, on the playable part of the map, it's 150 blocks long and 125 blocks wide, which is basically the long by most of the maps (except nuclear with almost 300 blocks long), so no, the map size would not be a big problem since you could see where all the players are at any time, due to that by testing with the other maps, players render up to 9 chunks away (144 blocks), so you could easily see them across the map.

About the map with 16 players would seem one of 4 because no player would fight with another... to go for one of the paths to the flag, you would have to go to the center of the map and climb the ladder, so you would easily see others players and there would definitely be fights, since the players appear under the soccer field.

Regarding "Imagine in half blocks, people couldn't even block half the ways in effectively", I'm sure exactly the same happens on maps like bridge, aces, nuclear ... and that wouldn't be fun? That all the paths of the enemy flag are not covered by blocks would make you think about the best path to take to get there ...

So, we definitely think it's not "Nuclear 2.0, but maybe even worse", and we don't think it lacks detail either. As I said, thanks for your comments!

It’s very hard to understand one thing: how do you get to the flag?

A video would be great.

Also change the part where it says 1 - 0 because I bet players would get confused and actually think those are the real scores.

What I can get from the video is:

The map isn’t as big as it shows in the picture, that’s good.

Regardless of there being multiple entrances to the flag, it seems to be very enclosed. The problem with enclosed flag rooms (like icypeaks) is that they are 1) very easy to defend 2) very hard to attack. Which means taking the flag must be extremely hard to do in a full game, because the space is very reduced and escaping can get difficult.

Apart from the obstacles there are to enter and leave the flag room though, as @Riley says there needs to be more. Otherwise you just have to take the flag, be lucky enough to leave the super cramped flag room alive and then just run. In most of the cases a runner would be the one to take the flag, meaning people wouldn’t be able to catch up to the person who stole the flag, and intercept them.

Maps that are easy to capture in at least present some sort of obstacles. Say Castlewars with the hole in the middle of the map and void at the sides. Or positive with the jump between both team sides.

I still cannot say I would like this map to be in BlockWars. Mainly because it is very simple, doesn’t provide much terrain variation. And the way the flag is located shows it would be painful to even try to get it, leading to 15 minute long games where at the end... it’s a tie.

My advice is:

• Locate the flag in an open area.
• Add obstacles to the soccer field.

I will try to be brief because I feel that many things you said are meaningless (in my view)...
First of all, how can you try to compare this map with Icy Peaks? Icy Peaks only has one entrance and that is the exit, so there is not much gameplay in thinking which way you want to get the flag and how to exit once you have the flag.

From my point of view, I consider that on this map it is easy to defend, but it is also easy to attack, if you saw the video, you realized that the flag is in a building with 4 floors, the first two floors are easily accessible and you get to them through the "narrow roads" you mentioned, but to get to the third and fourth floor, the only way to do this is to go up the stairs that are halfway down the soccer field and go through the tunnels, once on the third or fourth floor, depending on whether you went the path on the left or right, you can jump to the second floor, get the flag and from the second floor run to the right, go down some stairs and escape through the stadium stands , so it's not difficult to attack, and if you are wondering that we would be forced to take those side roads to easily get the enemy flag, you are wrong, you can climb the stairs but not go through the tunnels, simply climb the stadium stands and go to the 3 different entrances of the stadium, or go up and go directly to the enemy flag because we have put entrances through the crystals where the flag is, so as you realize, there are many ways to get to the flag, and going on the narrow paths is only one way, and at the same time that it is easy to attack, it is also easy to defend, since you cannot take the side paths once you have the flag, basically, there is no way to return to the third and fourth floor of the building once you get the flag, so you will have to go outside, towards the soccer field or the stadium stands.

In short, if a team does well, they can win a game in 3-4 minutes in what most of us are used to.

And about obstacles, what kind of obstacles? We try to put void, parkour, and it just does not fit, each map has a unique theme, and if the main theme of this map is a stadium, it has to be like a stadium... like it you or not,
I know it is a difficult map to understand by watching images or a video, the only way to understand the map is to play on it, I hope everything is clearer, and that you realize that it's not nuclear 2.0 and either Icy Peaks 2.0
If you don't like it after all, it's your decision and I respect you!

It looks good but extremely long and big, making it take a long time to get to the other side since there will be players rushing alot from both sides with how many paths there are. Now myself personally I like big maps like this makes for long games which i prefer but Ik alot of players especially in blockwars do not prefer a map of this size. Also the style I like the stadium itself but mixing stone-bricks with quartz style blocks don't fit too well in my opinion. There are around 3-4 paths on this map meaning it would have to be alot of players on to make this a fair map, and despite you saying it takes 30 secounds to reach the other side it will most likely take players alot longer considering there will be blocks placed to block them and alot of players trying to stop them. There also seems no way to stop players getting to your flag on the stadium, since there are alot of ways to get to the flag. Overall this map is just too big for blockwars with way too many paths to make it playable.
