That is pretty much the idea of open-source so that other people can use it and make the project even better. There will always be copycats (even without making it open-source) but that should not be the reason to stop developing new things.

Probably easier to develop for and more stable then alternatives for Bedrock. It has to be a custom protocol translator ;)
