I just don't like assuming that it is impossible or close to impossible to hack it when we have no idea what it does. I'm not saying it doesn't work, technically. But assuming it's unfailable is pretty much the same as assuming almost all sentinel bans are correct.
I wouldn't really mind having...
How does it work though? I guess a start would be to calculate the checksum of all class files in the minecraft launcher. It could attempt to use windows api calls like EnumProcesses to see what else is running. But how does it know what each process is doing? Can't that be faked using os...
The premise of the thread is that it's not mandatory. It can not be mandatory anywhere on the server.
If it is not mandatory, who uses the acconts that get banned? I can think of
1. Hack developers that are working on a bypass for bac.
2. Players that get tricked into downloading hacks that say...
Maybe also fire resistance (not too long, 30 to 90s) and invisibility, also potions come as lingering potions that can be crafted on arrows as well. The more different potions there are, the less likely it can be to get speed, really don't want players to get too many speed potions.
I still think the only good sytem is to split it up into different boards. I've seen a lot players that prefer normal projectiles, even it if's the minority by far.
There used to be 2*21 signs for team skywars. Then it was changed to 2*8 and now to 1*5. I'd rather have 2*4 than this. As...
I don't believe that only because you say it. Where is the exact documentation of what it does? Even if it worked perfectly, I don't think it would be able to catch a single hacker, beause they will not install it. If I am hacking, why would I voluntarily install a client side anti cheat if I...
That fits in mystatement. Either it is or it is not. I just wanted to look at both options in that post.
They don't use it.
Now after seeing more of this, I agree that it can be a useful way to show (even though not with 100% certainty) that you are not hacking. I can see that working.
What third option do you propose? Mandatory for some players?
I don't think it is impossible to hack. If it was, they could publish the source code so people could now what it does. Pretty sure it depends on security by obscurity. Also emulated inputs are an example that probably can't be...
I wanted to look at both options. Either it's mandatory or it is not.
Say it is not mandatory, developing a cheat is 100 times harder than with the vanilla client and it gets fixed 3 month later with the next update. Those players that use hacks that the badlion client can catch will simply not...
But that is unrelated to the badlion client? That cheater (unless he has a bypass for the badlion client) isn't using it himself. I wouldn't mind cubecraft using a server side component of BAC, I just thought the client side part was pretty much the point of it.
The picture in the op seems to be misleading, 1.12.2 is not available in the badlion client, someone posted this on discord yesterday. I personally can't try this since there it also doesn't support Linux (or any OS other than windows)...
I tried that now, it wasn't that great, I remember watching the seebotschat live stream, that was a lot funnier. Also I can't figure out how to change the speed of the narrotor so it couldn't keep up with the chat.
I don't even mind the kits in general, but the bow kit is definitely quite overpowered. Maybe they should automatically collect statistics about how often kits are used and nerf the most used ones until it's about even. I don't think I've ever used a kit other than archer and botanist. Some kits...
I wonder if this could work, maybe only every four hours, to get more players and be less annoying for everyone else.
Give everyone a small chat message 15 minutes before the game starts (so they can finjish their current game) that they can click to go directly into the game.
Those games will...
I made a silly forge mod that uses the cleverbot api to automatically respond to direct messages (/tell, /fmsg).
You need your own cleverbot api key from https://www.cleverbot.com/api/ to use it.
The responses might be inappropriate and result in a punishment.

Or you run it in a vm and have whatever autoclick and button press software you want on the host.
I think that on linux you can use namespaces to hide pretty much any process and file from a program, but I'm not sure how easy it is to make it undetectable.
The badlion client could just shut down when it detects the cheat. It also attempts to blacklist that computer from using the client again.
If the badlion client is not mandatory, it should be completely separate from the server. The point would just be that a badlion client user can see that...
