It won't. The light that hits the atmosphere turns blue because the light is refracted into the air particles. Blue is seen most because it is refracted at just the right bends to where we can see it's color. Purple is too high of a frequency, and green is too slow. In the night, no light hits it, so, obviously, it is black. You're welcome for the science lesson :3
