The only way to survive that is too jump right before the elevator hit the ground. Its hard, but not impossible...

No she fell, all the way, she suffered badly, just like someone jumped out of the World Trade Center when it was attacked by the Al Qaeda, and survived. They both suffered greatly, but in the end, they were back to a life with.... forever disabilities.
