how do people find shiny pokemon? i never found one .-.

There are a handful of Pokes that can be found shiny in the wild, at a 1/500 chance I believe. I've gotten Shelder, Swablu and Magikarp this way. Others are found in community events (tomorrow, shiny squirtle will be in the wild for 3 hours) and today had a three-hour window to fight Articuno at every non-ex gym, with a 1/19 shiny chance. Shinies have a 100% catch rate.

Tier-5 raids always have a 1/19 chance of giving you a shiny, assuming it's the Pokemon's second time as the boss. So Regice doesn't have a shiny since it's never been the boss before, but Rayquaza will when it's in raids next, since it's already been the boss before. You can also hatch some shinies, such as Pooch, Pichu, Magby, etc.

Shinies are UGLY apart from Rayquaza, Greninja, Torchic looks ok (barely any difference, thats why), Magicarp and Gyarados look awesome, but thats about it.
