You got muted the other times for swearing, this is just as bad as spamming. As I said, the best thing you can do is politely try and reason with the staff member that banned you (via PM).

Nope, I wouldn't. Why should I respect a cheater or a chronic rulebreaker who clearly crossed the line multiple times? I wouldn't swear or threaten them of course. Other than that, I usually don't mean to be rude.

To begin with, I never broke the rules and got punished to begin with. My philosophy is "if you're rightfully banned or muted, then don't appeal." Same goes with what some game companies do.
