It's something I've never noticed until recently so it's obviously a very minute feature as it stands currently. I've been playing Eggwars almost daily for a fair bit of time now and never ran into any problems with it or feel like it's absolutely ever even effected my games personally.

Personally I feel like spawn protection solely to defend an egg upon respawning would be way too ridiculous and make it near impossible to break a team's egg unless you have great timing and blocks with a good pickaxe. If there were to be spawn protection the games would last much MUCH longer...
