It begins as erythema (redness) in the central part of the face or on the cheeks, nose, or forehead, and infrequently can affect the neck and chest. When rosacea progresses, other symptoms may develop as a semi-permanent erythema, telangiectasia (dilation of superficial blood vessels of the face) circular, papules redness (small grains) and pustules, redness, burning, burning and itching, and in some advanced cases, a red lobulated nose (rhinophyma) .
