ive experienced this but thankfully only from the opposing team, sleepyjoe loves doing it. i understand placing towers to reserve leach spots like on the bottom corner of cave crawl or on the top 5x5 on perilous, but jesus christ i hate people who put placeholders on all 5x5s or entire rows.

how would that be annoying? that would just be an exp stall, and if you spammed artillery, any aereal troop would make it to the end? don't really get your logic :o
