snow golems ready to kill: 2014-11-22_08.01.19.png
    blaze rod sorting machine: 2014-11-22_08.25.20.png
and finally, the blaze spawner itself: 2014-11-22_08.34.25.png

offtopic a bit : do snowgolems do damage? I thought they just hit things away... or is that why the water is there?

The blazes aren't dying from the snow golems; they're dying from the water. Blazes, like endermen, take damage when in contact with water. They will not drop blaze rods if killed in this fashion.

Also, mobs only drop items if they are killed by the player itself sadly.
If you are feeling up to the challenge I highly suggest making the Etho's model of a blaze farm.

Are you hoping that the water will kill them?

I think a player has to kill them for a blaze rod drop, if i'm wrong then it'll be a rare drop i think..

    Hope this helps,

That's only true of rare drops like iron ingots, carrots, and potatoes and equipped items like bows, shovels, and armor.

A crushing trap is pretty much the best way to make a blaze farm. +1

He's basically right, they have to be killed by either you or an npc, so death by natural elements such as water isn't going to cause it to drop anything. Remove the water and make a trail of hoppers leading to a chest on the outside. The rest is fine, just don't change your biome to desert unless you want a lot of slush where those snowmen used to be.
Not normally, no, but the snow is able to hurt blazes.

I just read on the wiki that only wolves and player kills can make a blaze rod drop. Crushing traps only work if you deal some damage at the end. No auto-blaze farms for you. :C

Yes, but the blazes are ending up in the water sorting system. Also snow golems can't make blaze rods drop. Only wolf and player kills result in drops.

Is it really hard to have them pushed via pistons into a 1x1x2 chamber in which you can afk around, and let them stack for enormous payout every few minutes? Just... don't make it out of wood. Fire and wood is a recipe for disaster. or a recipe for more fire.. :s Oh, and looting III swords may be hard to come by, but get one on its own with a strength II beacon, and you're rich before you've even started.
