There's many ways to terraform, I'm going to show you a few basic ways to make it look more world generated than hand made.

Step 1: "Create your base" This means to make the lowest template, you'll be starting your terraform here.
You want to avoid block lengths longer than 4, get it 1-3 blocks long each line.
    Example Picture: http://prntscr.com/3oo3tr

Step 2: Start building one block up starting behind the lowest block, it will look like stairs. Try to work in some 2 block high walls and change up the corners.
    Example Picture: http://prntscr.com/3oo5iy

Step 3: Repeat step 2 until you reach the top, go back and do some editing if some sides look out of place or to high or lengthy, fix it by adding stair features with the blocks.

    End Product: http://prntscr.com/3ooa9y

I hope this helped, This is how I do it. If you have any other methods to terraform feel free to post them in replies.

To add more variation, what I generally do is add a few cliffs in the land in raising or lowering to give the terraforming more depth. Also, what base material you use is crucial to keeping a theme with the rest of your build. What I mean is that if you want to use snow as your main block, you will probably be making a wintery or cold build. If you use endstone it may mean something like the surface of the moon. Also, make sure that your terraforming is assymetrical. If it is identical everywhere you look, it just doessnt look natural at all.if you have three similar hills (one in each corner) in a plot, then I recommend either having no hill in the final corner, or make a drastically different landform. You want to make the whole plot interesting, and that is difficult when it all looks the same.

Another terraforming tip, try not make it look like stairs. Make it look natural. If you need to break some blocks out of place, so be it.

And I taught you all! I dont matter that I didn't even know about the server at that point, I projected my ideas into your minds. Because I am a Peanut so I can do that.

i know this is reviving but what if you are building mountains, the 'stairs' technique would not work since it would reach a peak to early.
