Is there perhaps a Nether quest to make Quartz blocks? Our chests are overflowing but Id rather not turn all that Quartz into blocks if there's a quest ahead.

I did. I don't remember in which dimension I did it but I think I tested it in the overworld and it worked, so I did the rest in the overworld.
It worked fine for me. Just did the standard 1.12.2 recipe. The server is based on 1.9 so any changed recipes in the recent updates will not work. Otherwise, I think the quest is broken.
These should be added under Nether: Pigman Colony...
There's one before Golden Spoils, sorry didn't get screenshot.
I assume Mythical Materials comes before Mythical Majesty, since I haven't seen that one yet.
After Golden Spoils there's a quest to make glistening melons, since i saved up gold i completed it in 5 minutes and forgot to screenshot it. Sorry.
The next one in the line after that one is "Laced With Gold" (screenshot attached).
Also attached Pigman Plight.
After Pigman Plight, and Lightstone Lumberjack, you get Pigman Paradox (also attached).

Have you been able to make the quartz slabs??? I have tried in the overworld and in the neither and it will not count for this quest.

By unlocking the nether in the skyblock hub. You’ll need to get to the 7th island in the overworld first.
Well yeah to unlock the nether you’ll need gold, bones, rotten flesh and spider eyes. 2 of these items you only unlock at the 7th island.
More quests for Nether: Magma Graveyard (2nd island)
