Maybe they're left handed? I know a lot of good players and not many of them use their left hand. It's just a matter of preference I guess.

its because they're the most generic people on this planet so they try to feel special by putting their virtual pixel sword in a different hand than most other players

then you're either really bad at pvp or just really unlucky, cause everyone I've seen in left handed is just decent at pvp.

I use the left hand because I like it.
There is not anything else, and because of that some players call me hacker and also, for being good at PvP :p

Some do it because they're left handed, some do it because they're used to having a clogged up right view, and left handed MC characters have a clearer right view, obviously.

They don't, I for one put it in my right and the bow in my left, the hands don't mean anything!

I put it on the left side because it looks like the sword ocupies less on the screen. (In my opinion, I think it's not true, but it seems).

Everyone has a stronger perception in one eye, that eye is the one you will use to focus, so you clear the side that you use.
If you have a stronger right eye vision, move item to left hand. This is the CS:GO method but it's more likely because of people being left handed.

Well xD, I use the left hand to trip some players up, but if you wish to have it in your left hands, when in-game go to: esc > options > skin customization > main hand right change it to left

I use my right hand. I never put anything in my left. All preference.
