I've been working on a very detailed snow-themed build, and it is annoying that the terraforming looks too rugged without the slabs to make it more gradual. I dont see how it can cause lag (unless it's an entity) and even if it did, some great creations could look all the better. Not to mention I doubt anyone is going to think snow slabs will lag the server and will make lag plots of snow slabs :3

Do you mean with worledit? You can place snow by hand, but we don't allow it with worldedit because putting blocks like snow, saplings, etc. in invalid places can corrupt chunks. Someone could just //set 78 for 1000 floating air blocks and screw up their stuff.

No, everytime I place snow slabs by hand, it deletes itself after a few moments, like with minecarts and such. Its frustrating because then the build looks very sloppy and crude. However, I can place the blocks, but not the slabs.

Here, I'll upload a video later and show you what I mean.
Basically, I'm placing them just fine, but a few seconds later, it just all vanishes...

Are you placing the slabs on top of each other or against the side of another block?

Found out the problems. Thanks to @Galaxyfeather, apparently slabs "melt" when close to light, similar to ice. Well, I had a jack o' lantern right next to it :3 problem fixed, lock?
