Hello, so I've been thinking about this for like.. eh, 2-3 days now, thought I should make a thread about it.
So I'd say Skywars is one of the more popular games at Cubecraft. With it, comes many voting features. You can vote for the time of the day, chest types, and other game changing modes. Originally I had the idea that this new mode -ish thing would be a voting feature on Skywars, but now that I think more about it, there are several issues. However, this idea is kind of a spin off of Skyblock + Skywars. In this game mode you'll have no chests full of goodies (with some exceptions, read more below). Pretty basic. Right? So some technicalities?
Kits & Abilities
Still debating about abilities and kits. While they are useful and will probably make the game more fun, some kits like Scout and Lumberjack (or whatever it's called) give players some advantage when it comes to rushing players who may be unprepared. On the other hand... those who rush can usually be countered if players play it smart. As for abilities, mmm, personally I don't think they provide too much of an advantage. Dunno, like to hear some opinions about this.
Food & Hunger
This will likely become a huge problem, if this becomes a mode you can vote for. In most maps you won't have a source of food, so perhaps everyone is given 5 steak or something when they spawn in? Or... we can make it a bit more daring and players won't spawn with food (unless it's from a kit, IS there a kit with food? A bit unclear on this). heh.
Islands & Maps
So if this does become a thing, there will be some issues. There are a good amount of maps that don't really fit the stereotypical Skyblock island format/theme. Examples are such as Music, where there's really nothing but wood, jukeboxes, etc. In short, these are maps that won't really work for a Skyblock + Skywars concept game. If this does become a mode in Skywars, I'd imagine it would be rather hard to play with.
So solutions? Unless this was a game mode itself, then there wouldn't really be any issues with maps. If not, then... guess it's not really gonna be easy to play with.

For those of you who don't know what Skyblock is, I'd suggest you check it out. It's a rather fun game mode, where you kind of have to play vanilla minecraft, but with a twist. You're only given limited supplies, from which you'll have to expand upon. However, considering that most players on Cube don't like non-PvP based games there has to be some form of PvP. Hence this Skywars + Skyblock kind of theme.

Aside from that, there's also the issue with whether or not a player will get bone meal or that sort of things. In Skyblocks, one of the base blocks (notice how I said blocks?) is wood. Trees don't grow that fast, and considering most players attention span, including myself, I don't really feel up to waiting for wood to grow. Bone meal or something should be made available. This goes into my next point -
So there are some cases in Skyblocks where you spawn on an island with a chest full of starting goods. I think this chest should hold several key items: food, bonemeal, saplings(?), etc. Naturally, these chest won't refill. Coolio : D
