Hey all,

I'm a pretty big Infected fan myself and enjoy playing as the infected to kill all other players.
Although there are two things kind-of in my way when playing.

1. ''bottom campers''
I think we all know the old ''Skybasing time'' where lots of humans would decide to build a skybase wich almost 100% guaranteed a win. Luckily those times are over and they cannot build higher then a certain limit.
Although personally I start to see a new very annoying ''tactic'' in this gamemode wich I will call ''bottom camping''.
What is bottom camping? Have a look for yourself:

As you can see, they usually go all the way to the side of the map and start digging down as much as they possibly can.
This means if there is one minute left (when you receive human finder) you only have one minute left to dig all the way down AND kill the person.

Enderman and Spider might have a bit less trouble due to their ability to get to the point faster but other kits are at a huge disadvantage. These side-campers are just extremely annoying as you need to respawn like 10x in a row just to receive the Human Finder ability once.

How could this be solved?
I suggest giving Human Finder more often when respawning or give it at one of these moments: 1.30, 1:45, 2:00

2. Prefer ''Start Team''

Lately this doesn't occure that much anymore but often it still does.
People that enjoy playing as Human become Infected and leave at the begin of the game giving the Infected a slight disadvantage compared to usual.
While personally I love playing as Infected and don't really prefer playing as Human.

How could this be solved?
Allow people to select at the begin of the game what their spawn preference is, Human or Infected.

3. Remove Fire Resistance Buff
Well... has there ever been a situation where Infected ended up actually using this buff?
Perhaps change Fire Resistance for a bigger chance of Human Finder like mentioned in 1.

This happened a lot on the Community Show, personally I don't like it as well, but I'm not sure what they can do about it. Hiding in the mines is a thing, so I don't believe that they will make a world border or something there. Giving efficiency 2 on pickaxes to Infected could help getting there though.
2. Prefer ''Start Team''
This is a great idea. I would like to see that in-game.
3. Remove Fire Resistance Buff
Maybe in future maps, there might be stuff like lava that would make fire-resistance useful, but until that removing it is good.

I usually don't find Bottom Camping a good strategy as someone on the infected team has human finder and usually creepers just blow them out into the void but it can be annoying I guess. I always wanted an option to increase your chances of being infected and that's the main thing I like about this thread. The fire resistance buff is pretty useful imo as my starting level 3 enchantment is always fire aspect on an iron sword so every game I have a fire aspect sword and running away from/killing large groups of infected is really easy.

I totally agree with you, bottom campers are annoying. I think setting a 'low limit' or whatever you want to call that would be a good solution too. This basically allows players to mine until they reached the 'low limit' . For example, this could be Y 12 which ensures they can't mine lower than Y 12.

The Fire Resistance Buff is indeed useless at the moment, but like @Jefsweatsgames said, maybe there's going to be lava in the future maps.

l feel ya, I dislike campers as well as they make the game... not fun? I guess, but I agree with your statement. Maybe they could give the compass at 1:30?

Another possible idea is to make the ground slowly corrupt away. So the lower layers begin to break slowly and eventually dissapear. This would result into the humans having to get to the surface to stay alive.

That doesnt make sense lore wise and I care a lot about lore. Make silverfish spawn instead

I would suggest adding a "mole" kit that has a high efficiency pickaxe as I mentioned here: https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/current-and-future-kit-suggestions.198161/#post-921402

Alternatively, humans at lower y-levels could have the spectral effect given to them earlier, where the area of effect slowly increases in y value as time passes like the enclosing world border in survival games. This way, humans at a suitable y-level won't be disadvantaged by an earlier spectral effect that applies to all humans.

I'm not sure revealing humans earlier will be an effective solution. When you are shown you are only seconds away from being invaded with infected everywhere. Whether you are below or above the map or even suicide running all over the map, you're going to be killed easier.

Structure on the map could help this. Cubecraft could add a feature to block doors and entree ways into a build in structure. I'd have to think more about this but it's an idea for now.

Another thing that could be added to the game are partners. Infected will have a partner team of 2-3 people. You can respawn next to your partner as long as you are not near or fighting a human. The original infected team cannot respawn to each other for the first 30 seconds of the game to give humans more time to prepare.

I am also a very big fan from infection and I do have to agree with you. There're a lot of bottom campers who are just sitting at te bottom of the map untill they are getting revealed. This is not the only annoying thing. There are also people who will dig down untill the last block and thy wil break all the blocks around him so that infected players who dig down dirrectly fall to their dead. I have also tought about a lot of solutions but I just can't find them.

Add oxygen. If those moles stay down there too long without direct exposure to air let them suffocate and die

P.S. I have a serious problem with this map...
infection is an island game, yet moon has no islands\



As for the suggestion... I personally like the fact you can do this... it is almost the only way people can win this game...
but hiding down there has a downfall, you are very vulnerable to creepers, as they can easily get to there using TNT to clear many blocks at once. The other easy way to die is from someone spleefing you
so i think it is balanced

Well, as you can see in the video, I had no problem with that at all.

How in the word would that help against bottom campers?

Hello everybody!

So at the start of this weekend I set out on a challenge to fix this camping issue once and for all. Only issue is the solution was fairly complex and contains quite a few changes to the game. I'm not going to specify any specifics just yet, as they may all change during testing, however the key points that we have so far are:
- Infected can mine faster, so hiding underground becomes harder.
- Higher armour protection is increased. By the end of the game, you're expected to have full *diamond*. This is so that you're able to take on all the infected players at once. This basically will turn into mega 1v15 fight to the death. Hopefully should be intense.
- We've given all Infected a speed boost, so running away becomes much harder.
- We've tweaked a lot of our formulas. The calculations on our end are pretty secret, but basically are the the things that ensure that the game is close an intense.

Lets hope that these tweaks balance out the game, and make it more enjoyable for everyone!

(As for other suggestions, I'm not ignoring them, I just felt like the balancing/camping issues were the most important, so am dealing with them urgently.)

I do not fully agree with this , the kit spider already has speed and it would be unfair for them to have an ability that other infected also have. You can maybe change the spider kit so that it has an iron axe or anything like that so that the kit stays special. But for the rest it sounds like a crazy good idea :)

Spider will still remain much faster than all the other kits. We'll see how it plays for now, if we need to make changes we can, after all the games still in beta! ;)
