Remove the AutoBalance Feature / only add it PRE-GAME

You don't know if you will finnish a game or not. Something might come up so you'll have to leave. Skywars is really different compared to blockwars. In skywars, you have one life and if you'll die, you won't respawn. But in Blockwars a match is around 10 minutes and you will respawn after you die. And therefor it should be fair teams.

I have been moved to a losing team right before the game ended many times. But do I cry because of that? No. Its just a game and you could always just start a new one. I understand all the frustrating in being moved because autobalance but I also do know that I hate unfair teams.
Getting moved is far worse than unfair teams. I mean, if your team is losing badly, having extra people won't exactly help. In fact, it'll make things worse because the victims of the autobalance will not be happy. So instead of 3 losers, it's 5.


PS: it's more than a game :) . I mean, you should let people hack on Cubecraft if "it's just a game".

TBH, I think autobalance in Block Wars RN just as useless as blockband...

The way auto-balance works sucks. If you do a ton of work to do something, you should be able to take it until the very end, not have it turned down by some AI.

There's nothing profitable with auto-balance besides causing more grief or anger.
Take an egg wars game for example.

You're playing in the map eggs, you have a team of 4 and so do everyone else except for a team with only 1 person.
You destroy every egg and eliminate all teams except for that one loner guy.
You become massively stacked, so you put ALL your stuff in a chest and bring
a diamond pickaxe to get that loner guy's egg. 5 seconds later, the very, very smart
Auto-Balance comes in like a hacker and puts you in that loner guy's team.
In the end, thanks to the Auto-Balance, you get destroyed by your previous team.
Do you really think that's fair.
Yea you may be like,"At least the loner guy got someone to team up with."
That may be true, but do you think that he appreciates some guy being on his team, or him winning?
Ofc he would like to win.
End result:
Loner guy isn't really satisfied, you're triggered, and your team is rejoicing without you thanks to auto-balance.
Now put that picture into block wars.
You really think that it's enjoyable?

Oh please, minecraft is pretty much JUST a game, Cubecraft is pretty much JUST a server on minecraft, blockwars is pretty much JUST a game on Cubecraft. You can enjoy a game without winning it. All you have to do is enjoying the game while PLAYING it. If you have to win every game you play I feel sad for you guys. You cannot always win a game. What matters is how fun you've had under the game not weather you win or lose. Getting switched to another team, yes its annoying but it doesn't have to ruin the game. Why does the fun has to stop just because you get moved to the losing team? Haven't you had fun while you were in the good team?

Plus, all these eggwars examples cmon, eggwars aren't even similar. Its different. In eggwars it does not matter how many players you are or if you have your egg or not. You can get OP stuff and just kill the enemies. But in blockwars, you have to take the enemies flag AND run back to capture it before dying. Its pretty much impossible if you are 6v3.

Blockwars has been my main game from when I started on CubeCraft. I know why people hate autobalance. But its not like world is going under. And when I am on a team where we have less players I am actually thankfull for autobalance, because then you don't need to be like pro to actually capture a flag...

yeah it's really annoying if you are winning and get rebalanced! but it's unfair if it is 8v2?

I understand you want every player to enjoy Cubecraft but this isn't the way to do it.
Hey 4 people are losing to a team of 6! Let's make their problem your problem using autobalance!
Now will not only 4 people lose and not enjoy the game but a 5th person of the winning team will lose aswell!

Nice, the first one was my solution too. But the second is also nice.

I'm sure EVERY BlockWars player hates this,

Autobalance.

Now before we start I want to mention I have NO problems with the idea of balancing teams.
But if you decide to add an autobalance feature, I beg you only add it PRE-GAME.

There is absolutely nothing worse then getting moved to the losing team mid-game as you're winning.
It's even more lame when this happens when you play with friends.

Also, why in the world do you guys think it should be kept?
Do ANY other Team-Modes have this feature? No, and thank god they don't have.
But it's still pretty weird as all Team-Games are simular,

In Survival Games you help your team mates by killing enemies and giving them gear.
In SkyWars you help them kill enemies and give them supplies aswell
In EggWars you upgrade generators helping your entire team in general.
In UHC you help killing enemies and giving your team supplies, etc.

What's simular to BlockWars? In BlockWars you assist your entire team by killing. You assist them by blowing up / mining defences to open up a way for your team with the Ninja kit.

Let's just not add AB to other Team-Modes but BlockWars because it's an unpopular gamemode!

TL;DR
- AutoBalance just makes another person lose / not enjoy the game
- AutoBalance only should be applied PRE-GAME
- BlockWars is simular to all other Team-modes when it comes down to assisting your team
- Or just remove it in general
I understand you, but I don't think it should get removed... Why don't you think in this way?: '' Yeah, I've changed the team that i'm playing for. However, I know how my last flag is and I'm gonna do everything to help my new team and try to get a win from this game ! '' If you lose, you'll have another games to win and if you think in the way i've said you're going to leave game happy (so you've enjoyed the game) because you have made everything possible to win the game but you just didn't.

Punishments? I don't agree at all. You don't know why the player has left. That player could have left the game just because he had a uimportant thing to do as help his mother that is sick our something at all. I disagree.

Oh please, minecraft is pretty much JUST a game, Cubecraft is pretty much JUST a server on minecraft, blockwars is pretty much JUST a game on Cubecraft. You can enjoy a game without winning it. All you have to do is enjoying the game while PLAYING it. If you have to win every game you play I feel sad for you guys. You cannot always win a game. Besides, getting moved to the opposite team makes you feel like a traitor, especially if you were the MVP of your team. That feeling is enough to override any fun. It makes you feel as if everything you've done was for nothing.

The feeling associated with losing is "oh well, better luck next time". The feeling associated with getting moved is "I've would've won if it wasn't for the &)<*]^> autobalance!"

If you leave a game because you are losing and are on the smaller team, there's no loss to it. Even if you stayed, you would've received your rewards anyways (rewards = kits and more kits = more fun btw). Getting moved, however, is a huge loss. Those rewards could've been yours.

When a player fights hard for their team, they expect a reward. It's like spending weeks on a quality school project, them getting a lousy grade that you didn't deserve for it.

It was a bad example,I just meant that there are 3 easy solutions, removing it, rewarding players for it or punishing players for causing it.

I don't believe that most players actually cares about rewards, I don't but ok... (might be bc I already have everything in blockwars).

As I've said before in this thread, I believe that the most important thing is that you have had fun while you were playing. And if the win is so important, I think you all should try to see autobalance in another way. A win isn't everything. I rather have a fun time while playing with my TEAMMATES and hoping that the oppisite team will have a good time too than playing where no one has a really good time and where everyone is too focused on a win.

They usually won't. Sometimes, a team has to admit defeat because they are small, especially since the game started fair. You might as well make it so that if a team is losing, the game automatically gives them extra points or something because hey, then they'll have a chance, right?

Yes you will. You end up fighting against the team you worked so hard with to support. Many times, the team you were originally on had your friends too so now, you are also fighting your friends (and I've learned that most people here would rather play with friends than a fair game).

And anyways, when I work hard to support my team, I expect it to pay off. I don't want to work so hard on something, only to have it be used against me.

If I lose, it should be because the opponent is good, skilled, or strategized. That's fair. Not because of some dumb AI. That's unfair.

Unfair = not fun

(J = Join)

J1 1% to get rebalanced
J2 2% to get rebalanced
J3 3% to get rebalanced
J4 4% to get rebalanced
J5 5% to get rebalanced
J6 6% to get rebalanced
J7 7% to get rebalanced
J8 8% to get rebalanced
J9 9% to get rebalanced
J10 10% to get rebalanced
J11 11% to get rebalanced
J12 12% to get rebalanced

May this is a good solution?
Or maybe not being with these odds it would mean if any 2 or more players wanted to play on the same team together they would probably rather than join a game with players in it join an empty game making it very hard to find good maps with lots of players to start
Also because people don't want to be switched so they'd be reluctant to joining an almost full game
