One way to make followers matter.

Hello forum people.
So, practically everyone knows that followers are useless, you just follow people for a follow back, or because you respect them, etc. I don't know if this was already suggested, but my suggestion is, whenever you follow someone you should get notifications whenever they post a new thread, or make a new status. Now obviously, there are some people who are following 100+, so there'd be an option in settings, to either get no notifications or just some from the people you want.

I only follow 4 people so I wouldn't really get mass spammed by them. Seems like a nice suggestion, +1 from me.
I would also like if you got a notification if someone unfollowed you.

I just follow people who i like and are kinda active! However, i don't like to receive messages from all people who are being followed by you... If this also includes individual settings (so you can select some people out of all the people) then, i would agree with this!

A notification would be nice. However, can't you easily abuse this by just simply follow, unfollow and repeat?

Hmmm I like it. I always try to respond to friends their threads but get no notification of it, this would help a lot!

I actually quite like this suggestion.
It would indeed be nice if you get a notification if they have created a thread or a new status.
Also, you will get a notification if it is their birthday. ♔

There is that... but I don't think people pay much attention to it.. the mere fact that you're the first person to show the news feed section in this thread , shows that people will pay more attention to their notifications than their news feed

I really like this suggestion. Maybe for the next forums update? :p I'd really like to get a notification of someone who I follow, who made a new thread or who just posted a new status. Great idea! :)

I see the Thread only now.. Yes I think this is a great idea, I want a notification of who I follow! Then I can see exactly when their a Thread or change their status! Good idea! @ItsDavey_

Its a great idea as long as the no notification setting will be allowed as well, I think this would be useful because for the most part I follow people so I can see there posts, threads etc.
