If you're trying to build a gamer PC, I recomend you to invest more money on the GPU
AMD is normally cheaper than Intel, therefore you'll have an extra money that you can invest on the GPU.
Nonetheless, Intel is known because it has a faster cooling than does AMD. If you don't mind the heating, go ahead with AMD.
Just remember that the better your cooler, the faster your PC will work.

I personally prefer Intel because it doesn't overheat too much and it has a really nice reputation among the PC gamer community. Just remember not to get the most hardcore CPU, you still need to balance the rest of your PC. It won't make sense having a super CPU if your GPU is really bad.

I can say the AMD processors are cheaper. Intel processors are general faster and relatively more expensive.
But additionally the AMD processors have a powerful, integrated graphics chip.

My choice: an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor because:

i5:
  • to do several things at the same time
  • it is extremely suitable for gaming
  • to generate more power in a short period
i7:
  • to do several things at the same time
  • it is extremely suitable for gaming, photo- or video editing programs, heavy games and heavy programs.
  • to generate more power in a short period
Yes it is, i have the intel core i7 7700k! :)
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it! :)
