I have a minor suggestion.
Make it so that cave spiders have the spectral arrow effect instead of it being completely invisible. Maybe just the outline version of the spectral arrow effect instead of it covering the entire the cave spider to help you be able to see it more clearly and be able to attack it.
If it isn't possible for the 1.8 version (if there is a 1.8 T.D)... I don't know what can replace it :p .
If you do not like the idea what if you can toggle it in the settings menu?

Thoughts? Opinions?

First off no there is no 1.8 TD I checked and second I like this Idea when I first played TD I would lose most of my games because Cave spiders would sneak by me and just couldn't tell if they werw dying. I like your Idea :)

I like the idea of the Spectral idea effect.

As Queen said, there is a heath bar on show. And it is pretty obvious.
Well currently for me I can't see the health bar on cave spiders for some reason ( I missed the part where waddle said the health bar is enough)

Is it just me?
Would it really hurt if they just made them more visible by putting a spectral effect?

Either the health bars for caves got bugged or intentionally removed. You can still see their eyes and they become visible when they're on fire.

Their eyes aren't very clear for me meaning if they're not on fire/being slowed down with ice I can't see them, which results in me spamming my sword all around the floor until I hear a damage sound.

About the spectral effect: I feel like it ruins the invisibility property of the cave spider. They're supposed to be invisible until decloaked by fire, not visible through silhouettes right away. If you memorize certain places where to place the mages, you can keep them visible throughout the entire track.

The issue I have is at the start of a game.. Think of it this way Cave spiders are meant to be invisible hidden by all towers but mage + ice towers, what if players have a 'special vision' to view the mob even though they are invisible like thermal heat for example (don't take it seriously :P ) which can be perfectly represented by the spectral arrow effect, since other towers don't have 'thermal vision' they cannot attack it.

Something like that, how about show it only when caves are within range of a mage or ice tower (similar to SC2's cloaked units that show only when within detection range).

You mean they receive the effect once they get touched/damaged/within rage on ice + mage towers?
Sure why not! but preferably if it lasts until they die since I cannot see their eyes clearly.
