Implemented Improve Staff Team Communication

This stems from the new announcement of a translator rank. The fact that staff members themselves are commenting on the thread with confusion/disagreement shows that this pretty big decision wasn't mentioned to moderators and that there is poor communication within the staff team.

In addition to this, there were also quite a few moderators who liked posts which disagreed with the new rank.

Please note, this post isn't meant to be hate or anything. I just think it should give the management team a bit of a kick in the backside and also a bit of assistance with pointing out their mistakes so that it won't happen again. It's understandable that a few mistakes will be made with the new management team stepping in, just need to make sure to point them out so that you can learn from them.

I think it's a bit far reaching to assume that just because staff were unaware of this one change that it happens often, because this is untrue as far as I am aware.

Thanks Niko for all the concerns but at this time all the staff members have received a lot of information about it and we have all been informed correctly about this update.

That's true, but even this one change gives a bit of a bad outlook on the entire team. To the public eye, all of it seems unorganised and it gives a bad impression of the staff team.

Anyways, I'm sure that this was just a blip. This post here is to make sure that the managers learn from their mistake and this doesn't happen again.

Imo, it should have been announced to staff internally before the change was made. Also, the fact that a lot of mods disagreed with the idea of the rank shows that it wasn't really discussed much before implementation. As mentioned in my comment replying to story, lack of communication resulted in a public display of staff confusion which gives a bad impression of the team.

That cool and all but I assume he's trying to say it would benefit the entire staff team if it happens/happened beforehand. Seems like that didn't take place. It'd prevent lots of confusion and a possible poor reputation.

From reading what he said I'd assume he is talking about after those replies were made as he said "at this time all the staff members have received a lot of information"

I’m pretty sure they were joking.
Why wouldn’t you tell any other staff members other than the admin team ones about a brand new rank which is going to be released?
It makes no sense.

Thread is still relevant, though. Despite them being aware right now, they should’ve been beforehand.

But if everyone has been informed correctly by now, the staff team should just consider this thread as a reminder that it should have happened before the introduction. Nothing more, nothing less. :]

Hi,

CubeCraft Games values all the efforts of all team members who help make CubeCraft a better and more welcoming place for everyone. We wanted to surprise valued members of the Translations team with news about the rank to thank them for all the effort they've been putting in. Translations are really important for making CubeCraft accessible to those who don't speak English well or prefer to play in their native language.

We really wanted it to be a surprise but the consequence of this is that this caught our staff team offguard as we did not consult or discuss with them prior to announcement.

This was wrong of us and we are sorry, in 2020 we committed to being more transparent and although our hearts were in the right place, the execution was misguided and led to confusion within our volunteer base which should be avoided in the future.

Going forwards we will try to continue being more open about what we are doing. Generally, this has been the case, we just failed a bit on the way to improvement. We really hope you can understand that our Admin Team is still new and mistakes like this are bound to happen. We are thankful to have the support of our staff team and community as we learn and improve.

We'll get a simple Q&A drafted to address some of the main questions and get that out asap to the community.
