In Eggwars there was a feature added that when you purchase armour in the shop it automatically equips it. It also de-equips any weaker armour and automatically equips the stronger armour. For example if you were in full leather and you bought full iron, it will de-equip the leather armour and automatically equip the iron armour.
This is a great feature for bedrock since equipping armour on console is much harder, due to the inventory navigation. Also you cannot switch armour with keybinds on console, so its perfectly understandable why that was added to bedrock.

Why was it added to java? It offers more negatives than positives
It greatly lowers the difficulty of the game, since you no longer have to buy the armour, open your inventory and equip it. Now all you have to do is press 1 button and the game does everything else for you.
There are many scenarios where you DON’T want your armour equipped for you. One of them is when you’re in leather armour, and you buy iron armour and it automatically de-equips your leather armour into your inventory. This destructs mass-armour buying and messes up inventory space utilisation. Another reason is that you want to keep your leather armour on to ‘appeal’ to other players, making them think you’re not geared, when in reality you are. You might argue that well you can just take off your iron armour and put your leather armour back on. Well yes, but why I shouldn’t have to be able to do that, it is a big inconvenience and wastes my time.

Another common scenario is when you’re fighting an opponent, the opponent helmets break, exposing him to some fatal damage. But oh wait, what is this? He can just buy a new one in less than a second from the shop. Instead of strategically preparing your inventory with more armour, you can just hang around the villager and buy armour whenever its close to breaking, since you don’t have to bother with opening your inventory and wearing it, the game does it for you. It absolutely takes out all strategy and skill, which are important in EggWars.
I’ve seen many players abuse this feature, by eating 1 notch apple, and hanging around the villager knowing that they don’t have to worry about how many armour sets they have in their inventory, because the notch makes them tanky enough that they can safely purchase armour & have the game auto-equip it for them. It greatly prolongs the game, since it makes it harder to kill opponents since they have this absurd and overpowered feature available to them
It also exposes any strategy that you might have, for example if you have a lot of diamonds and you want to buy diamond armour, but you don’t want your opponent finding out since you want to make them think they have the upper hand, well you cannot do that because the game will automatically equip your diamond armour and expose your strategy & resources. This will enable your opponent to run away sine they know they won’t be able to take you on, thus making the game last much much more longer than need be.
“But Mesbar, it helps new players since they aren’t very good at equipping and managing their inventory!” Well Eggwars Armour can be related to SkyWars. In skywars, you have to manage your armour in your inventory, and swap out any bad/good armour yourself, in skywars there isn’t an auto-armour option for a reason, and there shouldn’t be one for Eggwars. The only reason BedWars offers this, its because the armor is a permanent upgrade.

Eggwars was different from BedWars & CakeWars because it didn’t offer auto-armour, it made the game challenging, it didn’t hold your hand and feed you.
What’s next? Are they going to add auto-armour to skywars because its “too hard” to manage armour?

What do you guys think?

Well, since I'm kinda lazy, this is one of the best features EggWars offers tbh. And it's perfect for fast-paced players like me. In some PvP scenario's, this feature is great too. Let's say you have 10 diamonds, and you want to buy iron armor. But two players from another team are coming for you, and if you have to de-equip the armor, they can crit you to 5 hp (at least), because you only have boots and a helmet. With this auto-equip feature, you'll always stay full armor. So critting will only cost you 2 hearts instead of 5.

Sorry, but due to multiple reasons, I'd like to keep it like this.

If you were a “fast-paced” player, then you wouldn’t want this feature since it allows your opponent to have the same exact feature. Meaning you will have a much longer fight, a disadvantage and a higher chance of losing the fight. Because this same scenario would apply to you, if you were chasing a player in full leather that has been at mid for ages, he gets to base, and you’re critting him out, but since this feature is also available to him, he is able to buy full diamond which will definitely help a “fast-paced” player like you, right? This feature unnecessarily drags out the game
But wouldn’t you say that it makes the game easier, and less challenging? Since it offers to do the armour management for you, which is one of the major key components of playing egg wars (overpowered)
Armour management is what differentiates a decent player, with a great player

HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD A SINNER. this is an inconvenience as mesbar said if you want to appeal to an opponent you are weaker now as people will say 'oh well just change the armour' why should we waste the time. now something better would be having a toggle-able feature in the settings that allows you to disable auto equip. also you speek about critting as the best pvp strat however when using a sword with sharpness strafe hits do more damage as the sharpness cancels the crit boost. dont state false facts please so yes i agree with U MESBAR although having it as a toggle-able feature would be better.

by toggle i mean voteable

It greatly lowers the difficulty of the game
How is taking half a second to put a piece of armor considered hard? So the hardest part of the game is not the strategy, pvp and all that, but instead a equiping a piece of armor. Okay.
There are many scenarios where you DON’T want your armour equipped for you. One of them is when you’re in leather armour, and you buy iron armour and it automatically de-equips your leather armour into your inventory.
Why would you want to be using a worse armor if you already have a better one? The cases where this happens are so rare that it's not even an issue.
You might argue that well you can just take off your iron armour and put your leather armour back on. Well yes, but why I shouldn’t have to be able to do that, it is a big inconvenience and wastes my time.
Buying all armor piecees and equiping them separately is also a big inconvieniences and wastes time. What's the most likely situation, equiping a better armor or just storing it in your inventory?
Another common scenario is when you’re fighting an opponent, the opponent helmets break, exposing him to some fatal damage. But oh wait, what is this? He can just buy a new one in less than a second from the shop. Instead of strategically preparing your inventory with more armour, you can just hang around the villager and buy armour whenever its close to breaking, since you don’t have to bother with opening your inventory and wearing it, the game does it for you. It absolutely takes out all strategy and skill, which are important in EggWars.
You're making this seem 100x more relevant than it actually is. You could also buy stuff from the shop, just not as easily, but opening the inventory and equiping the armor you already bought also takes time. This isn't a huge gamechanger, just a small consequence. If the reason you lost a game was because someone equipped a piece of armor 0.5 seconds earlier then i got to tell you, there are so many variables in a game like eggware that those 0.5 seconds were not the thing that made you lose the game.
It greatly prolongs the game, since it makes it harder to kill opponents since they have this absurd and overpowered feature available to them
Once again, taking 1 or 2 seconds more to buy armor won't suddently make the game last 10 minutes less. Please stop making issues seem important by exaggerating them when they are so small it's not even noticeable most of the time.
Eggwars was different from BedWars & CakeWars because it didn’t offer auto-armour, it made the game challenging,
Once again, forget about PvP skill and strategy, the most important variable in an eggwars game is if the armor is equipped a bit faster or not.

as it's quite a debated topic, why not make it togglable (like the old ew store) as this is purely preferences based?

This sounds like music into my ears, that's a good one. Not even sure if it's possible, but if it is, I'd definitely like to see this implemented and everyone can set their own preferences for the game.

To stay on topic, I love his feature since it came out and I've never had any issues with it before. So imo it shouldn't be removed, but instead a toggle function would be great in my opinion.

Rushers killed this game. Look at the amount of rushers in these replies "i like to rush, keep auto-armour pls or it is too hard for me". Next they will be asking for autobridges from throwing an egg, and more 10v10 9v9 8v8 maps so they can grind wins faster.
@Mesbar I agree, remove auto-armour, the game was better without it!

This has barely anything to do with rushing. It's just a quality of life feature. Instead of useless time spend within the inventory it auto equips. Not at all comparable to autobridges, is it?

please no. If you getting rushed and you buying armor and need to equip it yourself you would die soo you will lose instant just life with it

No, its not just a quality of life feature! It has gameplay features as well too.
Maybe you are not into playing team eggwars on your own (aka without a party), but for people that are, they are FAST at armour switching and inventory management. Believe it or not, but inventory management is a skill (it is super fast paced too btw bc vs diamond swords, leather armour breaks FAST).
You say things like "instead of spending useless time in your inventory, auto armour should stay bc its nice and easy". That is a good point, but you don't understand it from other people's point of view.
In the old days before auto armour, when you are 1v2ing or 1v3ing a team of full irons at a base and you break their armour, they would have to run to the villager and buy it, then equip it. In that time, if your pvp is good enough, you can quick drop the guy whose helmet broke. But let's say the shopper is super fast with their armour shopping and equipping, there's a chance they won't get dropped. This is the skill gap I'm talking about.
But now (with auto armour) it is impossible to kill them because the armour auto equips for them. No skill.
I am not trying to make it so that there is less quality of life in the game, I just want there to be more skill gaps, the game is much more fun that way and it is so much fun to improve.
Hope u understand bro.

PS I have seen u in game in solo eggwars (i think u are 1st or 2nd) and u are very fast paced and skilled at the game, so I am unsure why you don't want there to be even more skill gaps in the game, because I would have thought you would want to stand out even more as a god tier player

Yeah someone equiping a piece of armor 1 second later defenetively made you lose every single game since the update was added. Im willing to bet auto armor didnt change the outcome of the game even once for anyone, these people think that in a game where you have thousands of variables equiping a piece of armor will completely change the course of a game. The chance of this happening is so small it's a non-issue.

I would prefer if it was a togglable thing from settings, because I know that when I play with friends they like it and I am half/half, because if we know it is going to be a long game I would like to work on fortifications, and doing some other things, at the cost of more risk, but I like the risk at times
