While playing a bit of solo hardcore egg wars, I came to the realization that bows are too game breaking for solo. Why? Well, they're only 10 diamonds(what you get when you have a lvl 3 gen or from 2, lvl 2 gens) and arrows are easy to get because most maps have lvl 3/4 gold gens. If playing on half you'll basically die in 1-3 shots no matter what gear you have, for normal it's basically 3-6 shots and you're dead. If the game gets to the point of late game or simply someone camping with a bow you can't really do much. That's why I suggest increasing the bow pricing to 15 or 20 diamonds. I understand it's hardcore and this is what is suppose to be expected, but spawning to basically already having a projectile is a bit too broken in my opinion.

Hai, haven't played Eggwars in forever so I will refrain from offering an objective opinion, but:
If the issue is typically in late-game, then raising the price is not the solution since even by doubling the price, people will eventually still afford them. In fact, raising the price will only motivate further camping if the weapon is as OP as you suggest, slowing the gameplay down since most will either be in middle or on their own islands. There might be less chaos in early-game since most will be stuck with a sword, but once players begin to die you'll basically be playing hide and seek. I think that if a weapon is doing too much damage, its damage output should be nerfed in some way. This could be achieved by either reducing its enchantments, using a plugin, or by changing the available arrows in some way.

Im not sure how its like in solo hardcore because when I play, I play team.
But I do know that when i play team and the vote is harcore (mostly I vote OP) then the bow price is exactly the same as in OP mode.

Not a big problem ofcourse, but it keeps being weird of prices of almost everything but the bow do rise when its hardcore items.
The gear, food, blocks, gaps… almost everything raises in price, but the bow doesn't.

I dont really know why, but I would like to know xD?

Thanks for the suggestion, I agree, maybe changing the number of arrows may potentially nerf the bow. However, this isn't just a late game issue, being able to buy a projectile early game is the issue, that's why I suggested increasing the price as making it only 10 diamond for a bow is a bit too insane. Now accounting, the map sizes, most solo maps are typically very close by so it's easier to shoot at someone across the map, while also keeping in mind this is "Hardcore" so you can't really generate your health back unless you spend 10 gold on a golden apple which only heals back 2 hearts.

I do indeed find it quite weird how everything else changes in price but the bow, not sure what crossed the mind of the person when applying a price to that, but I can say being at 10 is a bit too cheap for a projectile especially in a game mode where you don't generate your health back unless you eat a golden apple.

Even as a certified Bow Nerd, I completely agree. On maps that have a level 2 diamond gen right next to a cluster of start islands (such as Tropical), a player can have a bow and plenty of arrows in as little as 1-2 minutes. And with the damage output you noted, any player with a bow can shred through others without any concern for taking damage themselves. While 20 diamonds is a bit high, either 15 or 20 would push the bow into a mid- or late-game weapon rather than something swiftly acquired in the early-game. I'm more inclined to support the 15 price rather than the 20, though, because that price is comparable to a max-level sword and allows people to develop different styles of play. If the only reasonable meta is swords or axes, it just makes the game boring.
(You could think of it like enabling players to develop as a rogue vs a barbarian).

The White House.
The main reason the price should be unchanged with hardcore bows is because you already need to put a lot of effort into getting to mid. Expensive armour, expensive weapon, expensive blocks..10 diamonds for a regular bow is not a big deal when you consider the effort it requires for one to obtain the diamonds to then purchase aforementioned bow.

Actually, especially for more experienced players (read: tryhard), going to mid is quick and easy. Usually they don't even buy armor before going mid, or just use the egg armor kit to already be armored up and ready to tank. Just grab 1-3 pieces of food, whatever blocks you need, and an optional pickaxe as a weapon.

I almost never play Hardcore or Solo but if it is really true that it costs 10 diamond for HARDCORE then i would consider the price 25 or 30 diamonds. Bows are very OP in Hardcore so they should be considered rare and expensive.
