I've seen quite a few of these lately and thought of doing my own. I'm really into survival, hence the topic of this tier list: enchantments

I'll be covering all enchantments up to 1.13

--[ S ]--

Mending (*) - I don't think this needs an explanation. It is without a doubt the best enchantment in the entire game.

Feather Falling - Do you also fall of cliffs just as often as I do? This enchantment has saved me so many times. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without it!

Fortune - This is just a given. You are able to get so much more diamonds, lapis, redstone and coal out of the ores. Once again, what would you do without this?!

Protection - This enchantment offers protection against nearly anything and it really does what its name suggests: protects

Unbreaking - Tools live so much longer with this enchantment, and especially combined with mending

--[ A ]--

Efficiency - This enchantment is a must-have on each and every tool, the only reason I haven't applied an 'S' to this is that there is (in my opinion) a clear difference between mending and efficiency

Channelling - This enchantment has been added alongside with the trident (1.13) and is absolutely wonderful. You can now easily convert creepers into charged creepers to get other mob's heads and it makes me feel like a god

Infinity - This would have been an 'S' if it wouldn't conflict with mending... It really is such a pain not being able to have both mending and infinity on the same bow... It doesn't even make sense...

Loyalty - If you have a trident, then this is a must-have. It makes tridents return to the player after throwing, very useful indeed!

Sharpness - Increases attacks by a significant percentage, so much easier to deal with those pesky hostile mobs

--[ B ]--

Fire Aspect - This is very useful when killing off animals as you'll get cooked food. Though, it's a real pain in the bum when fighting zombies: if the zombie hits you back, you'll be on fire too. Fighting endermen with this is more than infuriating because they'll start teleporting all around

Power - It's like sharpness but on a bow. It significantly improves the strength of your shot and in some cases, you're even able to one-shot entities with this

Respiration - Especially in 1.13, where there are ocean structures and mobs to fight, this makes it so easy to swim underwater without having to go up for five seconds and take a breath

Riptide - If you have a riptide trident and elytra, then it's so easy to just jump in a river and take off from there. And when it's raining, you can keep flying up for thousands of blocks. It's so insane

Silk Touch - It's kind of profitable if you store all your stuff into shulker boxes in your enderchest (to break the chest after placing it!), though the average Minecraft player doesn't have such a huge advantage with this enchantment, hence only a 'B'

Sweeping Edge - It makes XP grinders so much easier to use, though it can be a bit tedious when you're trying to kill only one mob and accidentally deal damage to other mobs nearby as well

Quick Charge - An enchantment that makes crossbows reload faster. It's convenient to have, nothing more though

--[ C ]--

Depth Strider - Even though I get excited when I get this enchantment: think about it, is it really that useful?

Fire Protection - This one can actually be very useful to have when fighting large quantities of zombies with fire aspect, or when falling into lava. The damage you'd get without it compared to the damage you get with it is remarkable

Looting - It's like fortune, but for mobs. It's very useful in general, though a bit of a pain if you have an enderman XP grinder and you have to deal with the insane amount of ender pearls

Lure - If you have an AFK fish farm, then this enchantment will double or even triple the outcome. Though, it's not worth it to actively fish

Punch - This is like knockback but on a bow. The only reason as to why I've listed knockback lower is because swords are used for short-range attacks whereas bows can be used for both short-range as long-range attacks (go, go, go, bowspammers!)

Thorns - It can be useful in situations where you are literally surrounded by monsters, though it doesn't deal that much damage to those who attack. It's not really worth all the effort to get this enchantment onto your armour

Piercing - It's cool to pierce multiple entities with one arrow! But who really uses the crossbow in combat?

--[ D ]--

Blast Protection - This one can be handy to have on your armour is you're just like me and creepers sneak up to you all the time, though it's nothing I get too excited about when I see it after enchanting

Flame - Arrows you shoot are on fire. It's effective, but if you miss a bunch of arrows then your environment is ruined for some minutes and if you accidentally shoot yourself, (yes, this has happened far more often than I'm willing to admit), then it's also a bit tedious

Lucky of the Sea - If you have an AFK fish farm, then this will have a significant impact on the items you catch, though actively fishing isn't worth it at all

Smite - You can one-hit phantoms with a smite V axe, though I definitely do prefer sharpness over smite

--[ E ]--

Aqua Infinity - The enchantment just allows you to break blocks underwater faster. Why would you even mine underwater?!

Frost Walker (*) - The only reason as to why I get excited over having boots enchanted with it is because it's a treasure enchantment. Other than that, it's terrible. If you jump or run too fast, the water won't convert into ice

Knockback - This one would have been an 'F', though then I thought about creepers and zombies. Knockback will put you in a slight disadvantage if fighting any of the other hostile mobs

--[ F ]--

Bane of Arthropods - This enchantment is utter garbage. I have no words to describe it, really

Curse of Binding - It's absolutely pointless and the only real use I can even think of is using it to troll your friends. Though, I myself would get very frustrated to see people dispensing curse of binding armour onto my body

Curse of Vanishing - I can't think of a use for this, not even for trolling. It makes items vanish upon death. If anything, that's just frustrating

Impaling - Although I have this enchantment on both of my tridents, who even fights sea creatures? Let alone with a trident

Projectile Protection - It only offers extra protection against projectiles, which aren't that much of a big deal anyway

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(*) These enchantments are considered 'treasure enchantments' and can only be found in dungeons, fishing or villager trading. These cannot be obtained through regular enchanting.

These are all based on my personal opinion and the experiences I've had with the enchantments.

Cheers x

Quite useless when you have sharpness that is strong against any mob
Sharpness is an all-rounder but adds a lower amount of bonus dmg compared to Smite and Arthrodops which have a higher bonus dmg output but only works on specific mobs.

Nonetheless is Arthrodops quite useless, since it's only effective on spiders, silverfish and endernites etc. but those kind of mobs already have really low health by default (crit with a diamond sharp 5 axe once and it insta-kills a spider).

Thorns is F tier. It absolutely melts your durability and I think it even ignores unbreaking.
Infinity - This would have been an 'S' if it wouldn't conflict with mending... It really is such a pain not being able to have both mending and infinity on the same bow... It doesn't even make sense...
Fun fact, in the first patch that mending was in you could have both at the same time. My friend made some on a survival server and got a very high price selling them in later patches. From playing survival, I definitely think infinity is much better to have on a bow than mending because new bows are so easy to make.

In Bedrock Impaling is definitely not F tier. It increases damage to all mobs in water or rain, and it does more damage than a sharpness five diamond sword and its ranged. Impaling five trident in rain is the bane of all monster existence...
