Alright. No, I'm not naming all the problems with Blockwars. I'm letting people who respond name the problems. Respond to this thread with as many problems with blockwars as you can find.



EDIT: Alright, that didn't go so well due to the lack of attention. I guess I'll give my information on this.

1. Team Balancing

Well, I'm always on the team where I have 6 other teammates with me against 2 enemies on another team. Imagine being on that other side and fighting that 6v2. That would be almost impossible to beat. Wouldn't you just quit right away? Every solution Cube tried didn't really work that well. I do have one solution do this problem, how ever. How about add a game started system where people can join when a game is already started. The negative is that if a player joins mid game, but is losing right away. A solution to that is only make them join for the first minute of the game then close that game. Problem is that players are gonna need the option to choose a game that's is started or not.

2. Lack of updates (possibly)

I'm not too sure about this, but others are. @Andyyy @carrometeoro People from blockwars somewhat got mad about the "mini update" that happened with blockwars. I was thinking maybe for all games, Cube should focus on the more dying games. This should be able to equal the amount of players in a game.

3. People don't know how to play

Again, this could go for all games as well. I always see spam clickers in blockwars (1.9) and other games like egg wars. Maybe for that, Cube should add server tips in chat so people know how to 1.9 combat better. Also, don't forget all those parties of 8 in blockwars humiliating players for not knowing how to play. A possible solution would be to make the respawn time longer the bigger kill streak the player gets. That would be able to give the new players a chance to fight back and out number the good players for a bit.

4. A certain kit

This kit in blockwars often humiliates players in games because they aren't able to catch up to them or even hit them. The kit would be runner. Now, I'm pretty sure almost everyone from FFA knows what speed 2 is capable of and what it can do in combat. Runner has lots of armor and speed 2. A solution to this kit would be to nerf it to speed 1. Lots of good players will take advantage of the speed 2 and humiliate players which in turn, will make them quit.



I might add more problems if I'm able to think of more, but for now, I'll let it go. Staff did say that blockwars wouldn't be good for the server. Well, as it currently is, that would be true, but if the server overcomes these issues, maybe that could be wrong. @Story @Camezonda would love to know your thoughts about this.

A non existing sort of matchmaking,you just get reck if you don't know how to play and then you leave and(probably)you won't come back.

Some random ideas
Actually do some balancing change and add some new kit from suggestions (add a kit takes zero effort lol)
Disable teams selection
Force-split parties over 4 players into different teams
Reward for losing (5-10points)
Reward for being MVP (5 points)
Make game objective (CTF and core) voteable option in game and just remove 1.8 blockwars (1.8 pvp does not fit blockwars sorry)

in some maps you can bet traped and without blocks and /kill you will be for all, the game

If you are talking about nuclear, it's generally regarded to be the worst map by far and there have been countless posts suggesting changes for it.

The only map you can well and truly get stuck in is pirates, if you remove the lava from the treasure chest in the centre, its 4 blocks deep and on the ships theres fences that you can get stuck between with no escape.

This may be nuclear,also there weren't new maps for quite a bit...

Oh That one is the bridge. I may have forgotten that being a thing xd
Should be fixed as well tbh.

Yes you can get stuck in that too, and it's called The Bridge
This may be nuclear, also there weren't new maps for quite a bit...
Last map was released 1 1/2 years ago lol

Big maps don't work pretty well on blockwars,do they?
Reasonably big maps tend to be ok, the problem comes when maps get too big.
For example, on Nuclear it could take 45 seconds or more just to cross the map, which is just boring.
On Pirates, it was very far between the boats and the spawn point being closer than the flag area so it was too easy to defend as you could respawn multiple times before they could dig in and take the flag.
From my experience, most people didn't find the bridge all that great, it was a bit on the big side and with the no invisibility for ninja bug, they could sneak through way too easily. The flag room was too small and easy to camp at as well.
Icy peaks, another big map, was also horrid to play on. The size was a factor but the bottleneck to the flag room made it too camp-able.

Overall, yes large maps don't work so great. But on the other side of the coin, small maps like positive were a bit too op for archers sometimes and became
frustrating.

That may work,obiously it will need to have a way of checking the quality.Also it can be another way to find new builders

There are old community maps ( positive in one) if you look behind the spawnpoint, there's a sign saying who made it. I really think it could work, especially with some sort of rating system for maps so the best maps stay and the worst maps get removed or have adjustments. Blockwars maps aren't too hard to make and can be vary varied and if experienced players make them they could go really well. The only problem is that they need to be reviewed and that takes time, especially if changes need to be made. But once again 1 1/2 years since the last map so they should atleast do something.
