So today I was playing the new and unimproved version of eggwars and I noticed the map powerline. So I clicked on it to see what it was like and it turned out to be too far spread apart. Having all of the islands that far away is useless and it takes a long time to finish the game. Another thing with it why is there so many middles. It’s a completely worthless map and yes I understand it took a lot of effort but it’s not really practical.

The reason why I love the map is the space. If it was closer it would not only ruin the map and encourage rushing to a whole new level.

I know it can't, that's not my point. I'm saying the farther away the better. My opinion the map is fine the way it is. It doesn't need to be closer together. It's unique and I want it kept that way.
So you want it to take what a few minutes just to get from one side to the other chasing down some random noob. Ye ofc I am gonna spend my time taking forever to walk the entirety of the map. Might aswell make it a 40 player with the size

That’s what makes it unique. Somethings take long and if you do t have the patience for it then maybe you shouldn’t play the map then. Long maps are a change of pace, and being honesty your the only one who is complaing. So far everyone else loves that map. We shall see though.

Everyone else.... I have spoken to about 350 people and most of them do not like the new update. So sure say what you want but I am going from what the majority have said to me.

If all maps were the same distance from each and super close then they are essentially the same map but with different looks, whats wrong with having an oddball map that has islands that are far away? it changes the gameplay so much that its astonishing and that is quite cool.

Also I do hope that you noticed that the maps are all connected through their roofs, all you have to do is nerd pole to the top and run to anywhere you want. That's probably they were designed this way.

It's a no from me.

The distance between the maps is one of the reasons I don't enjoy playing Eggwars. I played Speed Eggwars because games end quick because you can really easily rush others by placing very little blocks. That's why I enjoyed the game so much and I really dislike the normal Eggwars. It takes forever to get somewhere. It's just not fun imo.

I feel like EggWars is supposed to be a defensive game and rushing kinda takes away the fun of it, it's supposed to be longer, it's a strategic standoff and I think it should be less like other games like Survival Games and SkyWars that are over in a blink.

I don't mind others liking longer games and in one way or another I can get why. But that's why I played a lot of Speed Eggwars. Because the game was designed to be a rush game. I really enjoyed playing SEW but since its gone, whenever I played EW, which is only for daily challenges, I try to rush. Because I just enjoy rushing. Which is why I agree with having less space between the islands.
I hope this isn't to confusing and you get what I'm trying to say ;p

This is encouraging rushing as it is so easy to get the eggs.

It doesnt actually, the trade off is that you have to go on top of the house to reach the bridge in the first place, its only slightly faster than if you just started bridging normally, and also puts you at a disadvantage as it is a one-way street. This is massively gameplay changing, it mixes up the game so much more than you realize.

Also doesnt this contradict what you said in the original post?

Problem solved.

It’s not a one way street...

I don't think there is one intended way to play the game. That is why there are maps with varying distances, sizes, and pre-built bridges to the middle. Larger maps benefit defensive play, smaller maps benefit aggression. Just play the maps that benefit your play-style, and pass on any you dislike. Lucky Islands' Steampunk? Nah too annoying, but you bet your fluffiest pillow I'm joining every Dinner or Art game I see, because there's less RNG involved in getting to the middle and the maps are smaller, meaning there are these epic brawls in the middle where half the population dies at once.

If you make all the maps more similar, you essentially erase other people's strategies whilst making your own ones much more consistent. Suddenly, rushing becomes the only effective way to play the game. Say what you will about camping, but it is an effective and legitimate strategy that many players see success with.
