My suggestion is to add a new category to the loot: "Kill effects"

I have come up with some ideas for them already, though way more are needed to make this an actual category

"Blood" - Mythical

"Explosion" - Legendary

"Firework" - Rare

"Fire" - Common

"Dragonbreath" - Obsidian

Well , I like this a lot! This is a great idea to make it even more fun to kill someone or just to see someone getting killed! I actually like the star effect a lot ;)

I think it's a cool effect and all, but it'd be a bit annoying in games like FFA. I can turn my particles off/decreased, but it's a pain to keep turning it off and on just because I want to get above 40 fps ;-;.
People probably used to say the same about arrow trails, but in the end, it won't be as bad as you think :P

I guess it might not be so bad as I think it'll be, but just going to point out that the flaw in your comparison is that a lot less people use bows in FFA to kill one another than with swords and whatnot.

Or just disable kill effects in FFA, don't really know how else to deal with it

I think kill-effects are nice, but not that much of particles, because not every player have a good PC.

As Scream said, it is gonna be annoying if you want high fps. I play on a laptop and if I get too much particals I will have around 3 fps which you obviously can't play with. It's just gonna be laggy. (I had to turn off firework particals off with OptiFine so I could play EggWars without lagg.) If there is just one partical it's fine. But the explosion effect is just gonna be too much.

This is true, yes, there's not really much to do about this, though reducing the amount of particles would definitely be an improvement
