All Networks Don't close reports if...

I use the reports page very often, and when I report someone for killA or AntiKB or something like that it gets closed everytime, why? Sentinel. I reported the player before sentinel banned him, and the report its closed anyway.

My suggestion is that if the person that is reporting a player reported him before sentinel, please, make the report look like "Handled"

That's not the only problem. It's the same with reporting players for breaking chat rules.
I don't think the report should be handled if someone else reported the same rule breaker and his report got seen first and mine after that, but I don't think it should be closed either. Maybe adding another status.
In my opinion, reports should be closed only if they have insufficient evidence.

If it's the first time the banned user used hacks, and got banned by Sentinel, it's a 7 day ban though when you got proof, it should turn in to a 1 month ban
In my opinion, the Sentinel message on their appeal can stay, but a link to actual proof should be given without an option to appeal, or the appeal just shouldn't go to Crazydudette, it should go to the mod who handled your report (the one with actual proof)

I've aready suggested this once, what's the point in suggesting the same thing over and over again? It's not going to get implemented apparently.

When the player gets punished by the sentinel, this person will be told that the punishment is 7 days long. It doesn't sound very nice if the same player tries to join after, let's say, 7 days and sees that the punishment increased with 23 days.

Nope, it is not okay to tell a player that the punishment is x days long and then increase it after x days.

Sentinel may make mistakes, that's why first punishment is only 7 days
If there is actual proof, the first punishment is 30 days
Look at the rules for illegal modifications :p
You can ask a staff member if you don't believe me

I see you totally didn't understand what I meant. You suggested to correct players punishments by sentinel if there is a proof of their offense. That is wrong because, as I said:

That's lying to the player that the punishment is 7 days long, and then increasing it with 23 days. It is unfair.

True i hate this. I pass 20 min preparing the report and i only won a ugly red in my green list.
Please if sombody have videos and report a haker... please give them a handled not a closed but the person wo created the report loose time

I don't really understand why people keep suggesting this. If Sentinel bans a player, or a different report is handled first before yours, it's simply not your edvidence that got the player punished. Why ask for it to get the ''handled'' tag when it's the correct thing to give it the ''closed'' tag?

It's just a red color that won't hurt anyone or decrease the chances of a person applying for Helper (not accusing thread creator or other people they want to be Helper).

I just see no reason why it should change at all, simply put, deal with it.

I would like to say one more thing.
When you open the reports site and look at all your player reports, you will see this:
Thank you! Thanks to you x rule breakers have been punished. Thanks for helping make CubeCraft a better place for everyone!
The point of handling your report is that a rule breaker got punished thanks to you. It wouldn't make any sense if your report is handled, no matter that the player didn't get punished thanks to you, but thanks to the sentinel. My vote is a no (closed is better) and I suggest something else instead.

Reports: Reporting is all about quality over quantity. If we see that you made 10 reports but only 2 out of the 10 were actually accepted, it reflects back on your capability of identifying illegal modifications or your general understanding of the rules. Being a part of the team doesn’t always mean you will have someone by your side at all times, that means working independently sometimes.

So... yes, it does decrease chances in this logic. Closed reports due to the 'player got already punished' has nothing to do with your capability of identifying illegal modifications, that is why I think they should not get closed, neither handled - another status.

Ah, didn't know they actually looked at your reports in that way appartently, my bad.

I guess adding a third tag might not be such a bad idea after all.

I realy know this sense after two days happend this.
1 i see a haker
2 i record them
3 i publish the video
4 i create and put the info in the report
5 i search the perfect video hack moment
6 im keep waiting the video published
7 i publish report
8 i wait hours
9 i wait more hours
10 i keep waiting
11 i sew the repont in red and i see what admins told me
12 hmmm.... Sentinel ...
13 i cry
14 i kump over a bridge

As already mentioned in this thread, it mostly has to do with their chances of becoming a helper and just the way it looks. Although it might not have any actual impact currently, there's still some reasons to change it. I would assume that it might be nice/easier for the application team when looking for helpers, and players themselves are able to see how good they're at reporting etc. etc.

Makes sense, I guess. Seems like a pretty low-priority thing to fix, especially considering we just lost our web developer.
