Blockwars
As it currently is, many games are littered with bugs and unbalanced stuff that no one seems to care about fixing, why not divert your attention from adding new content in exciting new games to bugs and unbalance that has plagued other, less popular games forever, as well as actually implementing some previously "low priority" things that people have wanted for ages. This will bring players to actually play the other games on the server instead of just ignoring them because they are buggy and unbalanced.

What you can do:

Just make an update that only fixes bugs in all the games that need them

It is very hard spotting the causes of and fixing bugs in games and currently it seems like you do that along with an update for the games, but this isn't a smart idea, why?
1. You are neglecting games for sometimes over a year at a time and people will not keep hope in or even care about games that they know have bugs that will not be fixed for a year+
2. Leaving bugs in games makes you seem unprofessional and will give people a negative opinion of you.
3. If one of your games is buggy, people will assume that the rest of your games are buggy, or that the whole server is buggy and will not play them at all.

What I'm talking about here are games like UHC and others that have bugs that aren't necessarily game breaking but are annoying enough for people to get pissed off about being there. e.g. Blockwars leaderboard just being broken ( yes people have reported it, don't say that )

Make sure your games are balanced more importantly than having cool new stuff

Servers like BadLion lived their life with nearly no updates whatsoever, why did players still go on it, it was balanced, it didn't have cool new content every week that got dry fast but it was balanced. Ignore that it's closing down, that was for other reasons. An update will hype up the community for a few weeks but it doesn't mean people will play it when the hype dies out and its still unbalanced while the update hasn't changed the core gameplay that players were already bored of.

Instead focus on stuff like this:

1. Give every kit in a game a purpose, something that is more useful for than anything else, e.g. Medic kit in Blockwars would be super useful for regenerating between fights, but it isn't because it's hard to survive the fights when the armour is super weak. If kits don't have something they are best for, there is no reason for people to pick them and they will effectively become useless and gameplay will continue to revolve around a single or small selection of kits when there are many of them that just have no purpose.

2. Don't be totally afraid to mess around with the balancing in games after an update

I've heard many times before, after an update to a game, you changed things up but it's still unbalanced and the stock response is that "we will fix it in the next update", so players have to wait a year or so to wait for your attempt at balancing that doesn't always work. Look at the community response and adjust accordingly instead of ignoring it until the next update.

Work on quality of life suggestions or heavily wanted things that might take a bit of work

What I mean by this are things like expanding statistics usage in ways such as finally adding a statistics page ( or giving someone else the stats so they can do it themselves ) or finally doing the toggleable leaderboard or other good ways of comparing stats, which has always had the response that "it's more work than it's worth", which is really not true because more chances to get on leaderboards gives people more goals to work towards and more motivation to actually play on the server. Overall the server does definitely need a competitive update with stuff like ELO and rankings too.

Other quality of life suggestions like changing a map a bit or adding some small feature that can't be done in the click of a button really need to be looked at more than they are and it could really help.

Everyone in the replies, could you post the most annoying bugs or unbalanced stuff in games that are the most annoying or important to you

Basically everything in Infected
Golden apples in eggwars
No projectile voting in skywars
Price of shield vs bow in normal eggwars
debuffer kit in eggwars (though my favorite)

I won't mention BZ because it's still very young

If you've actually been paying attention hypixel has utterly awful game balance and is the number one server. Just look at their ranked skywars. There is a kit that gets a sharp 2 diamond axe (equal to s1 diamond sword) efficiency 2 efficiency 2 pickaxe double diamond mining rates (basically guaranteed fortune also there are 5 diamonds on every spawn island) 3 speed 2 potions that last for 25 seconds (speed is broken in 1.8, gets more reach hits) and clean iron. Also ender pearls on kills.

On the other hand there's a kit that gets a diamond sword, a 1:30 strength potion (+20% damage, basically a sharpness level) a fishing rod, a water bucket and 2 speed 2 potions for 4 seconds. oh and 2 gapples. Clean iron as well.

Now which one sounds better? You guessed it the first one, by a long shot.

So if hypixel has terrible game balance and they are the number one server. That means poor game balance brings more players. Let's do the opposite of what you said.

What really does annoy me is that Cubecraft waits for general updates to fix/add basic stuff. Like the 'Teaming in solo is bannable!' message isn't just added to all games, but once a game receives an update, it's added.
Same with the 'rewards when dead after your team won'. They wait for updates of the game to add such basic things.
This creates inconsistency in the server. Can't they just add these general, basic things immediately to all games? Some games take MONTHS to receive an update, thus being months without these things.

Now that I read your post with care (I just commented before reading :p), I actually agree with a lot of things.

I really agree with you that they should 'hotfix' unbalanced stuff, and not wait for an entire new update to fix things.
About the kits, yeah a lot of kits are useless but it's not getting balanced. Take Lucky Islands: Diamond blocks is the only viable kit.
Also, like you said, fix the bugs, even if the game isn't popular.

Other quality of life suggestions like changing a map a bit or adding some small feature that can't be done in the click of a button really need to be looked at more than they are and it could really help.
This pretty much sums up what I said in my last post. :D

I disagree, the 7th Battle Zone update in a row is all i'm asking for.

Also actually read forums posts to see what games actually need updates.
Battlezone has had SEVEN of the last 9 updates.
Pvp on the other hand (statistically the gamemode that has had the most suggestions) has had ONE in two YEARS, which only changed some kits, added rematches and added achievements.

I'd love it if we could just do nothing but bug fixes for like a month. @Camezonda is the guy who yells at devs for me, so I reckon tagging him here isn't a bad idea.
Fixing bugs for a month wouldn't be a bad idea. For example, the Zeus Tower bug in Tower Defenseand the block glitching thing on Blockwars.

As an amateur programmer, I do understand that bugs are one of the hardest thing to fix. If they are somewhere hidden, deep inside your code, you have to spend ages re-reading your code and checking everything to find what potentionally might occasionally causes the bug.

So to all of you, understand that it can take weeks/months to remove a simple bug ;)

Like the endless 'Game is currently in progress bug' ;)
